Doing the annual Idaho pilgrimage next week….
Hitting McCall around the 17th to see friends and ride the usual spots around there, but looking for suggestions on places to camp/ride June 14-16. We’ll be driving in from E Orygun. But I don’t mind going east or north of MC.
In my somewhat limited Idaho riding trips, I’ve greatly preferred the greener more PNW like zones such as McCall vs the ultra dry & dusty spots.
Will have our beefyish trailduro bikes & don’t mind long climbs for worthy descents.

I'm also considering an ID/MT trip around then, so I'll follow along.
ride bikes, climb, ski, travel, cook, work to fund former, repeat.

All the usual places like Bear Basin/Jug Mountain Ranch/Tamarack/Brundage/Ponderosa State Park you probably already know. The Payette Rim trail is now pretty much complete from what I understand, but haven't ridden the whole thing yet.
Lot's of worthy riding to the east of McCall if you can get through the trails, some trails shown on maps don't even exist anymore. A group of friends rode the Secesh to Loon last year and don't forget about 20 Mile Creek, Blackmare, etc. Probably best to ask about trail conditions at the ranger station or one of the bike shops in McCall.

Good resource for trails around McCall. You'll still have snow to deal with in mid-June so you'll probably want to stay at the lower elevations.

If you happen to come through Sun Valley, let me know... I'm in town until the end of the month.

Eagles Nest should be thawed out by now. As should be the Blackwell Lake/Crestline loop. Both are great rides.
Jug Mountain Ranch is a fun little pedal up bike park, a good place to spend an afternoon.

Possibly, hard to tell. Probably the biggest impediment would be deadfall. Not sure if Casino has been cut out so far. I was in Stanley the past few weekends and looked like most of the area of Casino was melted out up high, but that was looking at west and south facing slopes.

Thx all. Yeah I’m pretty familiar with McCall riding but trying to hit other zones within, say, a 5 hr drive of McCall. I noticed Soldier Mtn opened and I think the trails are beyond just the resort trails right? Also Wondering about Kellogg riding options since we would be there before the lift opens.

Think our plan from Bend is first hit Anthony Lakes area, where I can pick rides depending on snow line, and hit the fun little network just outside of La Grande or the Umatilla Rim Trail. Then up to Lewiston, ride in that area if it’s not too hot, then head east of Grangeville ( snooce ck trail), maybe stay at the hot springs resort, then down to McCall.

Yep, Soldier has some DH trails now that were cut in just before the fire. Supposedly it's riding well. Not much for trails outside the ski hill as far as I know expect for some moto trails like NF of Soldier Creek and a few others in the area. East of there into the Gold Belt are some fun trails like Mars Ridge area.
Soldier doesn't exactly have the best setup for their lift with bikes, they are currently hooking the bike seat to the chair frame and I guess hoping the bikes don't fall off? That lift is sketchy enough in the winter, but with bikes....

Osberg to Adams just outside of Ketchum is phenomenal. It’s kind of a big day without a shuttle but definitely doable if you’re fit.
