"The Premonition" by Michael Lewis
For those who don't know who Michael Lewis is, he's the guy who wrote "The Big Short," "Moneyball," and a host of other books that tell enlightening stories about events that many of us find interesting.
I just finished reading his latest -- "The Premonition." It’s about a group of people who knew what to do and should have been in charge of our pandemic response, but weren’t. It’s a heartbreaking story because we could have done so much better. But it’s also full of lessons about problem solving and leadership. Highly, highly recommended.

The second one features him reading an excerpt.
Typically surprising for Lewis is that he barely blames Trump, but comes down hard on the CDC. A common Lewis theme is to focus on outsiders (from the beauracracies of established institutions) who save the day.
