Saw him when I was in college. My favorite Steven Wright bit was when he picked up a hitchhiker and said to him “hold on- I’m gonna try something.”

Anyway, like I was sayin', shrimp is the fruit of the sea.
You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it.
There's uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo.
    Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried.
    There's pineapple shrimp,
    lemon shrimp,
    coconut shrimp,
    pepper shrimp,
    shrimp soup,
    shrimp stew,
    shrimp salad,
    shrimp and potatoes,
    shrimp burger,
    shrimp sandwich.
    That- that's about it
    Bubba Gump Shrimp Company.

I’m already on my way back north so I don’t think I’ll have any mo grits reports. I could use a recommendation for what brand of instant grits to buy though.

I think there's a difference between posting something blatantly off topic and a series of posts that end up steering the discussion to a different topic than intended by the op. I contend that only the latter is true thread drift. The former is "Wrong thread/forum JONG!".

What about random thread drift since "steering" is intended?

My statement covers that. Theres intentional external steering and then there's self steering, such as the random kind.

Ice-cube was considered for the role of Bubba in Forrest Gump - in an alternate universe this happened and people watch that version

The car still goes somewhere even if you let go of the steering wheel.

But it doesn't suddenly become a moped.

Disagree. Steering to a particular topic is different than a selection of random duck waddles or extemporaneous banana bread.

    This.
Besides, ladle grills shouldn't torque wet strainers. Spanktacular thunderbungies and all.

They are both thread drift and different than a blatantly off topic post. That's my point. And I disagree with your disagreement. Take away the knowledge that anybody is acting intentionally and they appear the same.

    I find your disagreement disagreeable.

    It's what Hitler would do.

(there, that's how you do thread drift!)

But disagreeing with disagreement doesn't necessarily infer agreement.

To hell with your off toast pockets, cheese filled or not. Sometimes it's just best to let the water turn black, no just light underneath and overhead too. How do you get your water so dark?

I love the scene in that movie when Dick Shawn auditions for the role of Hitler. One of the best movie scenes ever

I agree that Young Frankenstein beats Blaziing Saddle based purely on Wilder’s role because he’s sort of a supporting character in Blazing Saddles.... but Frisco kid and stir crazy are worth consideration as well

Oh you mean Part 1. You almost gave me a heart attack, man. Part 1 was closed because it was ahead of its time.
