I fear the playoffs will be a Covid induced shitshow this year. The lowest seeds could end up in the SB if the top seeds get hit with positive tests.
You realize there is very very little subjectivity in determining a teams schedule right? As much as I’d like to say this is NFL bias this is an outcome from a formula and a rotation.

You realize that was sorta a joke and I was just goofing around right?

    Eagles x2
    Denver
    Minnesota
    Saints
    Atlanta

The “hard” teams to beat being
    NE
    Tampa
    Arizona
    LA
    Carolina

    Not exactly a tough schedule

Well both the offense and the defense have both looked pretty darned good at times, just not usually the same time. Early in the season their offense was great, but their defense gave up a lot of chunk plays and the takeaways hid a lot of that. Now later in the season their defense is clicking, but Dak seems to have lost his mojo and is not as confident as he was earlier. If he can get back on track they would be a SB favorite. I don't count playing against a team missing half their players as a good barometer, so last night doesn't count. Next week vs. Arizona should be a good test, but they have slid recently.

At this rate the NFL should just put the season on hold two weeks, have a Covid party, and start back up. With almost everyone <35 and vaxxed there’s little risk and we all know the NFL doesn’t give a shit about player safety anyways. PR would be hell though. /sarcasm

My New Years resolution is to never watch an NFL game featuring a practice squad QB. What a waste of time and a lesson that I apparently need to learn again and again.

If I was Andy Reid and had it wrapped up, I'd have a Covid party, make sure everyone tested + in the next week, and get on with it.

No, we need them to beat the Bengals this week. After that, sure, go nuts.

I was an Oakland Raider fan first and foremost as a kid, and Madden, Stabler, Casper, and so on we’re my ambassadors to football. Thanks for all the memories, and the cool video game.

Caught most of the Madden special on Fox on Christmas day. Jeez, what a character. There's the soundtrack of your life, and then there's the fabric of your life - all the stuff, including people, that fill in that tapestry. When someone who was part of that for so long passes it's a bit of a gut punch, even if you never met em in person.

Anyway, this is a nice piece...

I didn’t think it was 10 but thought it was 4-5.

Pretty sure he had been completely out of the public eye. I'm gonna guess alzheimer's.

He did disappear from sight at least that long ago, I hadn't thought of him for a while when they started running ads for that special. But for quite a while he was kinda everywhere. I usually enjoyed hearing whatever he had to say.

It's weird when you're old enough to remember someone from when they were pretty young - like Madden when he coached the Raiders - to really old.

Yup, loved those guys. Being a Raider fan once I moved to San Diego was tough, so I switched to the 49ers, but John was and always will be the most enjoyable commentator I ever watched. RIP John, you will be missed.

As Madge would've said: "You're soaking in it!"

Jesus, Madden was a big dude - Dave looks like a cabin boy!

    P.S.

After debuting on Fox on Christmas Day, the documentary 'All Madden' was set to hit a variety of streaming platforms on Jan. 3. But in the wake of Madden's death, it will now be available to watch for three months on Peacock, ESPN+ and Tubi starting Dec. 29 at midnight.

So is Tyler Huntley. I just looked it up and he is on a 1 year 780k contract. It's sure looking like he ought to have a chance at making a bit more money on a longer term contract somewhere next year.
