My commute is now 32 miles round trip, mix of pavement, gravel and I can hop on 3~ miles of singletrack to mix things up. Lots of fun.

My bike commute was 18mi each way. Quite often I'd drive to work with my MTB in the morning and ride the MTB home. Had a route that was about over half singletrack with options to add side loops. Then I'd ride my commuter hardtail back to work the next morning, taking bike paths and some pavement. I'd never wake up early enough to do the singletrack commute to work. The bike path/pavement option only took 1:05 to 1:10. After work I could leave whenever and have an awesome ride, light or dark out. Doing it this way was the perfect weekday ride length. I rode to and from work in the same day plenty of times but never really looked forward to the ride home especially when it got dark early.

Nice, I’ve been riding to work here for 20 years now. Started riding to pioneer square now I’m going to cap hill. Winter can be tough but when it’s cold and wet then I know it’s snowing in the mountains.

I drove to work for the first time in a couple years last week. I had to give my daughter a ride because she cant drive a stick with a freshly busted right radius.

I was supposed to have a field project today. Drove to the office to pick up supplies, got it all loaded and was about to pull out when the client called and cancelled the project. Fucking fuckers, beautiful goddam day out and I drove in for nothing.

Doing same for years using an old shut down and paved railroad track. Pretty much as good as it can get in an urban area.
