    The Cuyahoga River.

It caught on fire, spurred the invention of the EPA, R.E.M. wrote a song about it, now all but one dam is are gone and you can eat the fish out of it.

@steal: This place hit a height it has not re-equaled back when you were a toddler. Or maybe an infant. But other than that there's been ups and downs.

I'm comparing having an electronic leash in your pocket to not having one.

As stated, Mountain Bikes and trails have, in general, gotten way, way better.
Yes, some shit has gotten dumbed down, but now we can go almost anywhere and find great riding, that didn’t used to be the case. You really had to hunt.
    And the bikes?

Yep. I kind of grieve for my kids' yet-to-come teenage years. They and their classmates get access to all-you-can-consume crypto-Nazi YouTube videos in exchange for GPS trackers that constantly report their location and communication activity to mom and dad. That sucks!

All the consumer products have become better, yayyyyyy!

As for general quality-of-life things, I'd say many more mountain bike trails and the new variety of them have been nice. Vaccine creation has been really top-notch lately too.

Meh, easier to shut off a cell phone than use your princess phone on the road.
And i pity the poor person who has to track my location between cell towers.

I feel like there was this steep climb that leveled off to a large degree around 1980 or so. Maybe 1990? Somewhere in there. Herschel or Bo or LT would still be studs. There's a lot more athletes now though for sure.
