There are dedicated volunteer crews for cleanup afterwards. Unfortunately as the main burn is so big and attracts a different demographic, many of whom think it's just Coachella without bands, there are more participants and even camps that are like IDGAF, but at least designated camps that leave too much shit behind don't get invited back.

My film won't be developed or curated for months, but a friend sent me this today and it really sums up the last couple days of the burn. Well, that's not true, I was there for 2 weeks, this was just in the heat of the last 2 days of rain before it actually dried out completely and was gorgeous again. You can see, I'm not phased at all. FKNA, awesome burn. Media (myself withstanding) is a nothingburger.

Talking with a friend yesterday who attended this year’s BM, you couldn’t be more wrong. Not surprising.

You have to understand, Montucky is a libertarian who has no issue with Republicans devastating the land, but is highly highly critical of any liberal attempts to improve the environment. All of them must go through a purity test to determine if the proponents have ever used any carbon or directly or indirectly caused any environmental damage.

Drilling for oil in ANWR is good because freedom, solar farms bad because they require mining resources.

Cut short? How about elongated 2 days? You on crack?

I just got through a 2 hour zoom meeting on some training tonight. This year we get 2 trucks, radios, and an evidence locker! I'll be there either Wed. or Thurs. of build week. Planning to leave on Thurs of burn week. No more 14 day hauls for me I think. I'll have a media pass, pulling some peers shifts for fun, and the abogado vista work. Also this year I'll be doing some field recording along with my photography.

Broke AF, but psyched. I think I am the only person from my staff camp that is returning so I'll be flying solo because I can't even get a hold of the 1 or 2 that I thought might come after a decade. I really don't mind. I'm never around and we don't share any resources. I will miss them though.

Splat won't be there, punani will.

Come find me, it's super easy. I use a ton of resources and bring the big toys and tote a magaphone.

I do bring a transistor radio and a ice scraper. And a mag's wife made me that hat years and years ago. I wish I remembered who. That thing is always with me. I really really want to thank her for that. It has literally saved my life. My favorite hat.

FYI, to anyone who ever wanted to go, you can go online right now, set up a burner profile, get a low income ticket and a vehicle pass, stay as long as you want and do it. There are no excuses. FYI. Very cheap fun for something that I guaranty you will never forget. Just bring water, some food, and a tent. Literally that is all you need.

    Burning Man 2021

Lots of tickets to be had for sure. Friend has two and a parking pass(as of now) if interested. Slightly lowered price.

We are trying our hand at our own camp this year. Guano Loco Lounge, location Baffle and 2:15. Apparently we are in sound camp land so will see how that goes. Late afternoon coffee and expresso martinis while they last. Monday-Wednesday 3PM-7PM. We are attempting a bat cave with 2 inversion tables and a hanging chair. Silent disco headphones with chill music and blackout goggles to give you a cave like experience. Will be rolling in on Thursday for build, out on the Sunday after the man burns.

Our friends at The Dusty Mule will still be doing their usual shenanigans at D and 4:45. Morning bar and party Tuesday night. Hope to see you out in the dust

Got a shift that gets off Tues night. I'll drop by the Mule and see if they are still bumping. Will stop by the Cray, decaffeinated. Travel safe all.
