    Fuck podcasts.

Seriously. Fuck them. If you have something to say, write it the fuck down and I'll read it at my own pace, which is 10x faster than you can talk.

I cannot fathom why podcasts continue to be such a big thing and seemingly dominate the conversation.

Am I the only person in the entire world who just refuses to listen to them?

    Poll your friends.

How many have read a book in the last year?

Maybe not your lawyer friends but your old carpentry buddies.

Nope, me too. Mrs. C loves listening to them.

I'd rather listen to music I like while driving.

Listening is easier than reading when you’re dyslexic.

Agreed. And I believed this way before that shitbag joe rogan became so popular to roided dooshfucks.

Wifey listens to Mark Maron who I think is fantastic but I still won't listen to his podcasts.

I can read just fine while driving, although the driving suffers tremendously.

I already have enough sources of disinformation available to me without adding podcasts to the list.

there is a difference between an audio book and a podcast.

i don't like joe rogan in the slightest, or podcasts in general, but i am very partial to the norm macdonald show.

I've never really found Maron all that funny or entertaining, but his podcasts can be good.

But most podcasts are boring af.

He's an insightful guy. Yeah, not a big fan of his standup.

Yeah audiobooks are hard to deal with.
But I've started listening to a few podcasts, you can speed them up to 1.2-1.5x. Think of it as a portable radio station that stops when you want it to.

Reading time and listening time are mostly different, I cut veggies poorly while I'm reading for example.

They fit into certain areas for me. Mainly dog walks, while mindlessly cleaning and car trips longer than 20 minutes and I'm not in the mood for music.

Yeah, that's exactly it, and why his podcasts are good.

    This.

There are good podcasts. There are shit podcasts. I find them and audio books useful for dog walks, long drives, doing chores around the house.

I also suffer from intrusive thoughts. Sometimes just having someone talking in my ears is a huge relief.
