    The “West End” Trails?

Has anyone ridden the trails around Norwood, Nucla and Gateway?

    https://www.westendtrails.org

The hordes of van lifers and front range douchebags have made Moab and Fruita so crowded that I’m looking for alternatives. (not YOU guys. You’re cool. I mean the OTHER front range van lifer douchebags)

Looks like there are some options, and new singletrack being developed. I’ve only been in the area to run the Dolores, and it’s certainly beautiful terrain and no crowds.

MTB Project looks to have it covered better than Trailforks. Tons of trails, though most look like old doubletrack and not purpose built single track, which is fine with me.

Thunder loops? Y-11? Red Canyon? Blue Mesa?

Anyone? I’m guessing there’s a ton of camping there? Beta?

Haven't been out there to ride yet but looking forward to it. Thunder loops has camping near the trails and is supposed to be fun. Tons of dispersed camping out that way and some free campgrounds listed on freecampsites.net and the like. Now delete this thread

    Sometimes you're better off dead
There's a gun in your hand and it's pointing at your head
You think you're mad, too unstable
Kicking in chairs and knocking down tables
In a restaurant in a West End town
Call the police, there's a mad man around
Running down underground to a dive bar
    In a West End town

    Too many shadows, whispering voices
Faces on posters, too many choices
    If, when, why, what?
    How much have you got?
Have you got it, do you get it, if so, how often?
Which do you choose, a hard or soft option

You got a heart of glass or a heart of stone
Just you wait 'til I get you home
We've got no future, we've got no past
    Here today, built to last
In every city, in every nation
From Lake Mcphee to the Nucla Station

Yeah, I recognize that posting this may just contribute to the very problem I am bitching about!

I'm curious as well. May head down there for a weekend soon instead of Fruita or Moab for the same reasons listed above

This probably isn't all that helpful but I know that area has a ton of moto singletrack so there should at least be some really rough, blown out trails to ride. It's been on my to-do list to get down there on the moto but haven't been able to pull it off yet.
