Highline State Park (Fruita) Camping Reservation - 4/23-25
SOLD - Not going to use this reservation and thought I'd put it out here since they are hard to come by. $56 for two nights. You'll need to have a State Parks pass as well.

Yes it is. We were there two weekends ago and it wasn't too bad before 11am or after 2pm, but a total cluster during prime time.

I am visiting my new puppy in Mack on Sunday. Any suggestions where to stay in the area Fri-Sat. nights?

There is dispersed camping at Rabbit Valley, a short drive from Mack. I heard they are cutting down on it, but haven't been back there this year. You can always find a spot on 18 road if you don't mind the hoards of people camping there. It will be very busy but usually can find a spot.
