WTB XL Full Suspension Trail 29er

I've been out of biking for a long time (current bike is an OG Giant Reign X) so I'm looking to get something a little more current.

Looking for a 29er with ~150 mm travel size XL. Prefer something from the last few years. Prioritize the down over the up, but can't be too much of a pig going uphill. Looking to keep it under $3500 and Seattle area would be awesome. I'm not up on all the latest wonder bikes, but I know this crew can probably point me in the right direction. I've been checking out Pinkbike, but just browsing for now.

Quick look at PB in your area and this is the closest thing to your price range. Probably a killer shuttle bike that could be pedaled uphill and probably actually pedals better than your Reign.

Spartan would be pretty sweet. Not sure when these will be in stock but this bike is really growing on me up and down. Super well working package. The only thing that worries me is the rear hub. I was able to get one last fall on the pre order after checking with them when they'd be in. I think its was 2-3 days after their original eta . Worked out great. Thing is so quite too

Thanks for the heads up on these. I've looked at Commencal before but don't know too much about them.

Thanks WRG. Not much shuttling for me. I have to earn my downs.

If I can fit with a Large, what's the opinion on this one?

    Looks like 11 spd?

I think the devinci is probably gonna climb better and be a little lighter for sure. The commencal is a little more shuttle/park with the coil. Both bikes will completely blow your mind if you are on a bike now that is 7 or 8 years old.

How tall are you? Fit and geo >most everything else. Long and slack is awesome in the pnw my sentinel was the perfect bike there. Not so much here in New England but that’s because we don’t have fun trails that go down for more than 200 vertical.

Thanks guys. The supply issues are making it tougher to demo. A buddy just got an Orbea Occam that he's going to let me ride, but most of my friends are on Mediums. Will check a couple shops around and see if there's anything I can throw a leg over.

    What about this one: https://m.pinkbike.com/buysell/3038436/

So many good bikes in BC but this border closure is a pain in the butt.

I'm your size and lucked into an XL Occam. I made that call after sitting on a large and realizing it was uncomfortably small.

Go xl for sure. I am 6’3” and wouldn’t mind a touch longer reach than my sentinel at 500mm but would not want to go shorter.

Price is a little high, but maybe they’d ship?

I know no one really cares, but picked up a 2020 Enduro Elite with new GX drive train for $4400. Helped that he was local and I can ride it tomorrow. Based on all my looking, seems like a decent deal. More bike than I need, but figure I can sell for close to what I paid if it doesn't work out.

Nice bikes. No question id prefer that over the itense carbide. For a 170 travel bike theyre supposed to pedal really well

If you do I’d be very interested. Trying to upgrade to a new enduro since it seems to be a quiver killer.

If you don’t mind I’d be very curious to have your input on how it pedals. Only got to demo one at angel fire so I wasn’t able to do any real climbing but damn it’s sweet on the down hill.

Will do. I plan to get it out to Tiger Mountain out here next week which is ~3k climbing. I have multiple friends on Enduros who all swear by them.
