Mammoth Lakes is like a mecca for GOTOS van life people.

First, the amateur. Not very many points.

Next, the brofessional. So. MANY. LEDs. And I'm not even sure what the stuff is bolted to the rear cargo box. And is that a rooftop tent on top of the vanlife?

So, you've got your skis in the rack atop your rear cargo box and they stick out on the passenger side 12" beyond the mirror. Is that so you can decapitate zombies before digging holes to bury them in with your wee folding shovel that lives in its own little case on the box?

Or do those racks only hold snowblades? Or, maybe Rax Skis?

Maybe this vanlifer is vehemently opposed to lane splitting by motorcycles.

Pretty sure that Bay area dudes who drive rigs like that, ski 160's, and it's never occurred to him that it would be a problem

Only if they cheaped out on a “ADVWGN” or “OVLNRDY” vanity license plate.

Seen today in Markleeville, CA. I thought they had a lot of soy sauce and no ketchup, but then I noticed the traveling companion who had most of the same point getters but ketchup instead of soy, so between the two of them they are all set.

I think this gets bonus points for the remarkably bald tires. Ain't nobody 4 wheeling with those.

Disappointing lack of condiments on these two... Also, bad enough doing this, but doing it for a living?

I would like a score for this Mercedes on Mt Hood with a flagellator-antenna thing.

To access it, they use a ladder with weird foam hook things on it.

    What are these even for?

It's a cell booster, or as I call it the overland dildo. There's a shocking amount of then around here, including a bunch of work trucks, which I suppose makes some sense.

^^^My first thought seeing that was “There’s gonna be a lot of weird stresses on the rear legs of that box”

On close inspection, yes there are…

Sandalwood might also be because of the hippie chick he's got with him.

Well, that thing has never seen dirt. A real Jeeper can't keep tires that long. Too many sidewall slashes.

Yes but a fat bike tire I think! Pretty great idea with the stainless steel band strap
