Any ideas what the device in the trailer hitch is supposed to do?

Off-road refueling flex connect. It pairs with a Spot device directed on-call fueling service that keeps you topped up wherever you go!

I've got no idea and didn't even notice. The weird thing on the front of the roof of the truck kinda looked like a trailer hitch too so maybe that was some piece that attached there? A two holer Bumper Dumper?

Is this some kind of overland troll, or legitimately as awesome as it looks? Fuck a rotopax, just get some unistrut and an aquatainer, and some big ass twist ties. Brilliant.

It's clearly the ride of choice for the GSA.

Buying an SUV and cutting off the roof, fabbing aluminum interface to mount a fiberglass topper … backwards for aerodynamics …. also qualifies as brilliant.

Or maybe topper is resting on uncut roof and he slithers into the top? Also what are the struts on left bumper for?

Holy shit, yes it IS mounted backwards, this shit just keeps getting better the more you look at it!!!!

I'm gonna have to award zero GOTOS points, but possibly the best vehicle in the thread so far.

The dichotomy of using a hardware store metal shelf, bolted into said backwards topper, with bungies to hold your shit in place, but having a bike rack worth 1/2 the value of the car is challenging.

I, too, would love to see that thing on some washboard. How many miles till the water jug and side case pull through the rear 1/4 panel?

I'd like to think that's for digging a nice deep hole to take a shit in, rather than for vehicle recovery/posing purposes.

Two golf course garage queen posers - not a speck of dirt on either one and both seen at golf courses:

First one with the skull trailer hitch cover and the unused axe

Ha ha, why mount proper water containers, when you can just get a 7 gallon Reliance Aqua-Tainer water cube for $18, and bolt it to your SUV with some shit from the hardware store. Looks like there's a matching one on the left side as well. I'd be surprised if the width of that thing is road-legal.

What’s the point of the thin gas can? They hold what? 1gal? 1.5gal? You get what 350miles on a tank, in what circumstance is another 15-20miles going to save your day?

Just checking in because I'm camping in my f150 now and it's not nearly accurate enough IME. Had to flip the bed around for the night so my head wasn't downhill tonight.

Also, report from the field: since leaving TX and rolling through OK and AR GOTOS sightings are down significantly.

When you park in a cool, off-road looking spot that makes for a great insta post but puts all the gas in the tank downhill of the pickup, and you just need to bring the level up so you can start it and pull back into the proper parking lot five feet away?

I'm guessing I've spent a thousand nights sleeping in the back of my pickup over the years. Never once have a needed an app to ensure a good nights sleep. But I don't have a Yeti nor an Instagram and get by on Coors Heavy and Nathans with spicy relish cooked on a $20 gas Hibachi.

Whoa, whoa, you can’t go camping without spending at least $1000 on fancy camping gear at REI, even if you aren’t sleeping in or on your vehicle.
