I get your drift, but IMO it’s this side of over-the-top, and the execution is top-notch. It’s almost a museum piece.

At first thought I’d assumed a Scottle would be a Kelly kettle, but no, it’s a disc cooker.

Jesus guys, are you saying none of you have a propane wok strapped to your overland roof rack? Always rock a boondock wok! And you have to let people know this when you drive around.

My coworker hatcheted the tip of his finger off around the campfire one night. Had to fold up his roof top tent missing said finger tip to drive to the clinic...

That is why I've come to HATE public campground sites. There's always that guy (or a bunch of them) who have their generators running 24/7. WTF?!

The VSPs could really use electric hookups. It would cut down on generators. I get not wanting to do full hookups. There's a dump station for that. But electricity would be much easier than sewer and water, and it would make for a quieter park.

A disc cooker seems like something I might use but I'm not sure it's different from a wok. I'll probably get neither, I've been lazily putting off buying a new wok for years.

Is all that just to keep the stove off the ground and store the lid while it's in use? Doesn't look like they are cooking with it.

You guys would have loved the moment I experienced this past weekend camping on some BLM land. I have a 2017 Chevy Colorado with a leveling kit, good tires, and a hard topper with a sleeping platform. Zero GOTOS points. The roads were moderately rough but nothing crazy. We're rambling down a 4x4 road towards a trailhead for some really cool arches and come around the corner to a hudge Dodge 5500 camper rig, New Jersey plates, USA map half colored in. It looked like an earth roamer but with no branding. The tires were hudge, easily 35"+. It took a minute to figure out what was going on but eventually I backed up the road to allow the GOTOS all star to make his escape. He parked maybe 3 miles from the trailhead. We rambled on in to the TH. It seemed like a waste to spend all that money on a super capable rig just to turn around when you could finally actually use its capabilities.

    Love this thread.

Relatives have been waiting on a custom Sprinter from Sportsmobile for a hot minute. They NEED AWD to get to those gnarly backcountry spots but will require suspension work to support a Sleep Number bed in there. How many extra points for the Sleep Number?

There's a ranch in Montana I got to go to with an 18 "hole" skeet range and they had modded out and lifted golf carts for hole to hole travel that it reminded me of. I now believe all vehicles should remove the governors.

Ya. But pretty much taking your life in your hands if you try driving to a dispersed site though. You know...unless you've got a high scoring rig like one in this thread.

Coulda got 1000 points today in the LL parking lot. Easily. Too many to even get the camera out, I'm sure others will attest.
