    February through mid-March is the best six week stretch of the season here (usually)

    March is a much better month to plan a ski vacation than before Xmas. You'll have a solid base (typically the deepest base of the year) and March can be a snowy month. Plus the days are longer and it's warmer.

    March is better, but if you have to go at Christmas, the RFV is the place.
    I never wait in line, other than showing up maybe 30 minutes early, on a huge powder day.

    Is your sister flying in?

    With that big of group, you might consider a full service condo like the Crestwood. They have big vans, free pickup at the airport and will basically shuttle almost anywhere.
