Double boat surf, super fun and fast. Can go back and forth in the bowl heel to toe edge.

Nice! Almost looks like foil bail, took a wing to the ankle a week and 1/2 ago and ankle is still numb. Still surfing no wetsuit up here, water is at 73f still.

Ha. Yeah, sank the nose fucking around like three times. Need to get better, or less fat, or both I guess.

Those foil crashes always scare me. If I’m bailing on one I’m like swan diving away from it if I can.

PSA 50% off all Swell open box wakeshapers. Use code WAKE

I use the H3X Plus and it's AWESOME. Best one I've tried. Allows me to surf great wave on my 2001 Sunsetter.

We are wake surfing now but on foils. It’s super fun and you don’t need the full on wake boat you can do behind almost any boat.

Any worries about hitting the foil when you crash?

Yeah. I’ve seen a few people get messed up by the foils in falls. Lots of people will wear helmets when they are learning for that reason.

I also try to make sure I am jumping away from the foil on a bail to give myself some safety margin.

We wakefoil a fair amount in the summer. No one has ended up with a laceration or head injury, yet. A few bruises from the board and foil.

I used to ride the original air chair so am quite intrigued by the current foil gear. Especially now that I’ve self imposed a retirement from slalom skiing

It’s really fun for sure. Harder than surfing, but less need for a big wave. You can definitely foil behind a ski boat

We had an air chair as well. One guy sliced foot really bad that why I was curious about any injuries with the foil board.

I hurt myself pretty bad this summer, the mast or wing hit my ankle and a nerve where I have a lot of scar tissue from old surgery. Entire lower leg went numb and swelled up, thought I broke my shin.

My brother also hit his head on the mast and cut it open. But super fun!!!

Alright fellas, what boat do I want? I am looking for a wake surf boat. I am a slalom skier but the doc says no more slalom for me. Surf appears to be something my body can handle, the wife and kids all want one so here we are. Just sold my 23.5ft Cobalt open bow and my bare bones ski nautique (I'm really going to miss that boat). I want something in the 23ft to 24ft range. Plenty of seating for family/friends, some sort of shade, etc. Only brands sold in my old neck of the woods were master craft and nautique. Now in SW Colorado and it's a whole bunch of brands I don't really know, what should I be looking at. Looking at used, couple years old.

What's your budget? That's going to be the main driver. All the major brands make great boats that will make a great wave. Mostly comes down to personal preference and comfort features.
