    Pensioners Bickering Over "Pensions"

I'm bowing out of this debate myself, but here's a place for you old fucks to discuss the minutiae of retirement fund verbiage instead of the real estate thread.

Benny, this thread title is for you.

The places I’ve visited in France had delicious wine and food. The bocce courts seemed nice too.

then what did you start it for ?

I was shooting for " freedom 55 " like in the sunlife ads but I fucked it up and retired at 49, so I been on the IBM DB teat for 17 yars

at 60 you can draw early CPP so I did, I applied for and will get OAS at 65 next June,

I don't seem to spend the money they give me so I can't complain

A friend of mine, his grandmother married a dude who was 38 when she was 18. He worked for the town we grew up in. A year later he died but he had just gotten his 20 in, so full pension, cost of living, medical, everything. They had one kid, my friend's father. She never remarried and died at I believe 103. Drew a pension for over 80 years. When she died she was making like 10 times as much as he ever made. Or 20, whatever. Way more.

Little old Italian lady living by herself in Florida for like 50 years. Mean as a snake, by all accounts.

I know a could old timers who have collected their DB pensions for longer than they worked at the company. CN rail and BC Hydro. Sounds like good value to me!

Looking for a new place to live. Has to have easy access to skiing, excellent food and culture options, would like some room to stretch out between neighbors and most importantly a well paying job with benefits...err I mean pension. Also if I buy a house would you know a respectable inspector since I'm a stickler for things being on the up an up...

Since nobody knows what this thread is about, it could be a good test thread. Someone throw some Polyass shit in here and lets see what happens.

Just for shits and giggles. It can turn into whatever, or it can fall of the front page and be forgotten.

Or You could give us a guided picture Tour of one of your chateaus and explain the benefits of a Private zebra polo Stadium to the unwashed masses.

Architectural Digest and Departures (for the unwashed masses, that's the Amex platinum card magazine) had a spread on this back in 2019. No need to rehash all that here in the PR.

Biden is going to spend your unborn great, great grandkids into serfdom.

But on the plus side, my 401(k) is doing great!

And you live with the illusion that you aren't a serf.
