Ya, grunting is apparently part of the English language vocabulary of American teenagers.

I have 16 and 14 year old girls and I can say that conversation hasn't stopped yet. What's really getting to me is dudes my age checking out my 16 year old when we are out and about. I'm working really really hard at being calm but man it pisses me off. Now if it's boys her age I get it, Dad can handle that shit all day but you 40+ dudes need to knock it off, at least shoot for girls in the mid 20's.

I had to fire a roofer this summer because he couldn't seem to see anything past my daughters. He made it less than 15 minutes before I told him it would be in his best interest to leave while I was holding my favorite wood splitting axe (for the record I was splitting wood). My wife was not pleased with me, but I'm pretty sure he got the message.

Heh. I'm in the same boat. I do my best not to notice leering men by deliberately looking the other way and ignoring what I know is going on. There's no stopping it, men are pigs. Luckily my daughters dress fairly modestly, in fact the 17 year old made a point of mentioning once that I should be grateful she doesn't dress "scandalously" like a lot of girls at her school do. When I was a high school teacher I used to be aghast at some of the outfits those girls wore to class, showing major cleavage and I swear sometimes trying to make me notice. It didn't phase me though, they really just looked like such young kids I just couldn't look at them "that way."

Yeah, I mean, it's one thing for a guy to turn his head at a short skirt and some tan legs as a sort of innate reaction, but once you realize it's some girl under 18 get ahold of yourself. I have two daughters 6 years apart so I'm sure I'll be getting plenty used to this sort of thing over the next decade-plus. The almost 13 year old just blossomed, so to speak, and I'm going to have my hands full.

Got my baby back in April. I don't know what the winds will bring around the teens, but I'm so happy to have my baby back.

Do you mean you won a custody battle? And you got your kid back from a vile ex?

Also (and off topic) the 'baby back' reminds me of a Chile's song about ribs.

Had to post this. Sorry Dads with Daughters.
I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

Insecure kids trying to project bravado and garner attention. Like Angela Hayes in American Beauty bragging about casually fucking photographers while actually being a virgin.

There were a number of girls like that in my high school. In particular in my history class it was a desks-in-a-circle setup so you could see above and below the tables and they'd always sit in the front row and I swear they were just baiting this poor history teacher, who was maybe in his early 30's and pretty handsome. Occasionally he'd lose his train of thought and I couldn't blame the guy. As a 17 year old sitting across the way I certainly didn't mind it.

Slight twist: I ended up marrying one of those girls from that class.

I mean you're not wrong but... we were together 23 years, had 3 kids... so it was fine for a decent stretch. So no regrets. Okay, maybe a few regrets, whatever. At least she didn't cheat on me with the history teacher, although that would have been hilarious. lol... killer legs, great tits... this is how we make bad decisions. Something I will need to pass along to my son ("don't chase after women like your mother" may not go over so well, however).

Apologies for not reading all the prior posts, but jumping in without a parachute. Long time lurker, sparse poster. As a dad of 3, I have to say that the fatherhood road is … complicated….,and really cool. If your kids are on their game, they will test you. If they are not, they will test you more. In the end, My view is that having kids and getting the title of “Dad” is worth the effort. Enjoy the winding road and hope for the best. Cheers to Splat!

I did something to piss off my daughter when she was 6 or 7, and she left me a note saying “big mout, little bran” (big mouth, little brain). It was very endearing. I wish I had kept the note and framed it.

Long time lurker, don’t post here often but thought this was appropriate. Wife and I just had our first born on 8/30. We are beyond excited for this new chapter in our lives.

Jesus save me. I was waffling on those karate and jiu jitsu classes, but I think I can find room in the budget.
