I don't call myself "dad". I usually say "self".

Fatherhood anonymous; an open discussion on being a dad.

This summer has been amazing being a dad to our 10 year old daughter. She’s always loved skiing, biking and sort of liked hiking. But her strength and confidence doing outdoor sports has grown noticeably and LOVES climbing at the gym, which I did not expect. I’m not a climber at all but that may be changing! Big props to Ubergrippen gym in Denver; super kid friendly.

Yeah, my boy just turned ten a couple weeks ago. His abilities on the bike, skiing, and fishing all exploded this summer.
Tons of fun. In other news, he's kind of a saucy punk, and mean to his little sister. Click image for larger version.

Henry (the lion-hearted) was born with the new moon at the end of July.

It has been such a joy watching him learn and grow. My favorite times with him are walking the streets at night and talking to soothe him back to sleep.

I am trying to keep in perspective how fast the past three weeks have gone by. I am so excited for him to experience the world.

Some babies are ugly even though everyone says they're cute. Your baby is not ugly. Congrats!

We survived the first weekend in-law visit and the first week just the two of us at home. I had no idea how much I would enjoy hanging out with him all day, even at this stage. He has learned how to socially smile and loves playing with his rings. Twice now, he has held his bottle and fed himself. 8 weeks on Thursday.

We have been taking him into the mountains since 5 weeks. With the temperature dropping we have been able to keep him comfortable and cover more miles. I am really looking forward to when he has more stamina with his head/neck control.

    A couple questions
Crucial travel/camping/outdoor gear? If he is up to it, I am hoping to cross country ski with him later in the winter and we have two week long trips planned for the spring. When did you start car camping with your kids?

Anyone have experience with friends/family who are anti-vax? Not just covid but everything. I am wrestling with how to tell one of my best friends we won't be visiting for the foreseeable future because I don't want his viral vectors around my son.

    fify
    Everything is outta the gate.
Don't set limits on em: "you're too young, small, weak, dumb", etc.
Let em try unless safety is a real issue...
Time spent skiing cannot be deducted from one's life.
