My brother and I had the same year in the 250 version. Pro tip. DO NOT use a double leading shoe front drum brake on a single track or on your lawn. A bike in similar condition sole at a Mecum auction for $1200 a few years ago. Dentists would pay $3-3500 for a fully restored version. Just guessing that about $5-700 would get it there. Or give your dad $200 for it and have a ball.

a guy had one of those in highschool, really those were too heavy street bikes with high pipes, street tires, poor suspension, a super high power band/ no bottom end power, they came with an owners manual that used bad english,

back then even the designated as dirt bikes were not so dirt I had a Yamaha 175 enduro that was not so dirt but it was miles ahead of this one off road

the japanese bikes all sucked for off road probably for another 10-15 years after this

They work well for mosquito control as well. Start it in the backyard 20 mins before your guests arrive.

yeah narrow road tires/ double leading shoe front brake is recipe for front end washout, that brake is a road bike design from before them new fangled disc brakes

? the CR Elsinore came out in '74-'75 and pretty much changed moto-x for good unless you mean something different by off road?

i think the euro bikes were still winning in MX until suzuki won some World championships but what the average guy bought from japan pretty much sucked, compared to whats around now


Not too many great dirt bikes in 1970, any thing that performed/ didn't suck was made in Yurp, was more of a maintenance night mare, you were pre-mixing oil and gas

i had a 250 OSSA mostly I filled up from a 5gal jug of gas i mixed up at home and I carried little bottles of oil to thro in if i had to buy gas on the road.

He wants to sell it. I just thought it was cool. It's in Edmonton but he asked me to toss on Vancouver Craiglist.

Here is the details

All parts are original on the bike except for the new chain, battery, and era correct tires. Bike was stored inside for 25 years and never outside stored.

All chrome is original and was restored to as good as I could finish.

1. The serial number is 005807.

2. 2 stroke twin 200 cc

3. Electric start and kick start.

4. Original headlight -high and low beam work

5. Original tail light

6. Original signal lights and flasher all work correctly

7. Original seat and covering

8. Up exhaust pipes sport package

9.Carbuerators were cleaned and new gaskets to heads.

10. Gas tank was cleaned with Evaporust 4 times and then air cleaned.

11. Oil injection system, pump works as per specifications

12. New spark plugs, ignition is excellent.

13. Brakes checked and work good, adjustment available if needed

14.Clutch works and adjustment works.

15. Transmission shifts clean and seems tight.

16. Needs a new air filter element, could not find a replacement element.

17. Runs good and idles good.

The bike needs to be run on a short trip to clean out any carbon buildup in the exhaust and heads.

He is quite the handy guy and we grew up with bikes, quads and sleds.

My single car garage in North Van is now filled with ski gear, MTBs and tools.

One day I will relive my childhood aroma of nice exhaust in cold weather.

What's this puppy worth. He has no idea. Had it stored in one of our farm sheds for a couple decades.
