    aspen mogul schools

I'm the classic story of someone who's hit an intermediate rut and am fine on groomers but fall apart on moguls. Plus im in my fifties now so reflexes and body aren't what they used to be. I've heard about Bumps for Boomers as well as the Jeff Clendenin schools at Aspen and they sound great. It looks like they have different mentalities to skiing bumps. Anybody have any experience with either or both? Anybody have any ideas if one is "better" than the other? Thanks.

Read the mogul thread. Watch some YouTubes.

It’s probably too late to master the zipper line like a pro, but you can learn them if you try.

Never been to ski school, so that’s all I got.

Thanks. I've checked the videos. Yeah no chance i can do the zipper line at this point. Looking for some good personal instruction so i can just get down those trails with control, keep up with my friends and be able to ski more of the mountain.

Both are highly regarded, especially John’s. I’ve spoken with guests that have attended for years.
Aspen has one of the best ski schools in the world, they pay the most in the US.
One of the pass perks is unlimited locals clinics for $139. My wife loves them and takes a lot. It’s really improving her technique.
Another pass perk is a couple of 50% group ski lesson vouchers, that most people don’t use. I know I’ve got mine and probably most mags do too.
Take a group lesson mid week at Highlands or a high level at Buttermilk and you’ll probably get a private.

go ski bumps at ajax of highlands. The lines are continuous and obvious. we call the bump lines at snowmass "ski school bumps". They are erratic, end in the middle of the line, and and are irregularly shaped.

    A lot of this.

There are a handful of amazing ski instructors at Aspen (something I never thought I'd say growing up).

    Also,
Are you looking to get better at skiing THROUGH moguls, or learn to zip them? like, not zip them like an olympic style person, but tick tock.

If getting through is your goal, I know a handful of what I would call all mountain shredders, particularly the newer guard that are skiing with clients probably at about the same point in trying to figure this stuff out as you.

Thanks for the tips. Will research the Clenendin technique vs Bumps for Boomers to see what i like. Sounds like you can't go wrong.
And i think we can agree that the "70's porn" quote is a leader for post of the year.
