The elk are down out of the Alpine Lakes Wilderness, relaxing on their bellies on the plain West of North Bend, chewing cud and contemplating.
    That's the sign of storm.

Sweet pow rolling the Alpy bc today, heavy down low admittedly, but dry and almost billowy in N/NE exposures higher up. Good snow to launch it off the myriad knolls and dips. Super fun skiing with the old Alpy posse, especially good to see Norseman back on the rage as well as Mofro, Abraham, among other past and future lurkers.

Looks like another 6+ tonight, see you kooks on the longboards tomorrow.

Woke up to snow at my house in Issaquah. It's a Long Board Day miracle! I'm still hoping to get up for the afternoon. I'll look for the party in Lot 4.

Just saw that the pass is currently closed. Curious if LBD has been postponed?

I would assume most were coming from the west side, which just closed now. Most probably made it up before the closure. As a late goer, I'm watching the updates and can hopefully get up once it opens.

I checked the Alpental site just after I posted and it said all lots were full at 9:30, so presumably plenty of people made it up.

I believe the consenseless is to reschedule next week.

He's down and on his way home. Banged up, but he'll be OK. We were very lucky today. Keep him in your thoughts/prayers/vibes. Definitely a day I will never forget.

Avy carried him off a cliff on last run of the day. SAR and patrol got him out. As phatty said, he’s injured, but okay. He could use all the vibes and prayers you can spare.
