Camp chair recommendos?
Looking to up our camp chair game for this spring and summer. Not worried about size, or even price that much, just want something super comfortable, not too low to the ground, just right for sitting around the camp fire with a beer and probably passing out. Not too many bells and whistles, but a cup holder would be nice so I don’t wake up with beer in my lap and people laughing at me.
So what’s out these days? I’m sure there’s a million options with money getting pumped into the industry from the overlanders and sprinter owning crowd.

When I worked at the co-op my fav chair to sit in was the GCI fire pit rocker. I took my breaks in the chair and called it my office.

In my opinion it’s hard to beat a classic folding lawn/beach chair; ie a Tommy Bahama chair. Costco has them cheap.... they don’t fold up as small as others but they are comfy and last...
The collapsible X braced leg style chairs fold up nice and small but are not nearly as comfortable and they end up falling apart quickly...
The flexlite chairs are too small and too low to actually sit in and too big to pack for backpacking. I don’t understand the point of them...

I have a couple of the Alps Mountaineering King Kong chairs. The seat is bigger than most camp chairs and the fabric is a little tighter so you don't sink down into a hole like most chairs. They are more expensive and a little heavier but I have liked them. Reviews online seem to be overall positive.

I would highly this: https://www.kijaro.com/product-page/dual-lock-chair. You can find it for <$40 and yet it is the best camp chair I've owned. Sits like a champ.

I've got some of the Helinox One chairs, a fold up loveseat, some other kinda expensive ones, etc but if you just want a car camping chair go get this one. We've got a few:

I'm sure there is a better place to buy it, but this was my quick google. Might be discontinued. Very wide, lots of room, trick is to push the feet the whole way apart and then thing is firm yet comfy and has great support. Durable. I've beat the shit out of it for years and it's still unscathed. Plus, two drinkholders.
I'm also kind of interested in the ones you catch air in and make into a air bean bag chair.

I have Eureka director's chair that I really like. Folds up nicely and can carry some weight.

If size and price are not an significant factor, it’s hard to beat snow peak for looks, comfort, and durability. They don’t pack up super small and they’re not cheap, but they are awesome and really well made. You can also find knock offs at mono price: https://www.monoprice.com/product?p_id=38129. Looks like they’re currently out of stock though.

We have the low version of this. It isn't super low, but IMHO really ups the campfire vibe as you're a bit closer. It is awesome for a couple, one person and a dog, or just one person with legs thrown up.
By far my favorite camp chair ever.

I've had a Kermit chair since 1999 or so. Bought it from Kermit himself before he sold the company. The new ones seem to be pretty faithful to his design. Everyone makes fun of how nice it is and how expensive it is...until they sit in it. Probably 15 friends have bought them after trying mine out.

I wholeheartedly second the loveseat. Borrowed one for a river trip and bought one as soon as I got home. Great for when you want to cuddle with a friend, furry or otherwise. Wonderful to lounge in solo and kick your feet up after a long day. It's big and bulky, but worth dragging along. Longevity is still to be determined, but nothing has broke yet and I keep it in my roof box 90% of the time.
Those Kermit chairs look awfully nice. $200 is a lot of dough for a chair, but if they last a long time it might be worth it.

I have a shitty ozark trail chair. it cost $10. it's a little rusty now, but I am up to date on my tetanus. cup holder cradles a busch light. smells like plastic burning if you chuck in the fire.
