Has there actually even been a TGR Skioff?
In lieu of a recent thread, I must ask the honest question: Has there actually ever been a TGR Skioff? Maybe some one who has been here longer than me can reference an actual skioff.
The skioff challenge has elevated to the point of paid expenses and a cash bounty to the winner. It might really happen!
I mean a real skioff, not friendly banter with a competitive run at a BBI.
I mean strangers from TGR meeting up, and dueling to a skioff. 2 strangers, with just TGR screen names known, that have argued to the point where only a skioff will prove who is superior, and a skioff is the only resolution.
A second serious question is it:
Skioff
or
Ski-off
or
Ski off?
I've chanted it many times, but I have never had to spell it.

What is the scoring criteria?
Style, speed, gnarly line?
First to the bottom, pick your own line?
Chinese downhill?
Judges?

Do you need a full sized spare tire to participate or can you risk it just bringing along a donut?

A few years back there was a ski off scheduled at Alta between digitaldeath and 4ply. 4ply was a no show, so digitaldeath posted photographic evidence that confirmed he was actually there. (This fact alone blew people’s minds...). Then 4ply posted the most lame excuse in skiing history. He claimed that because it was boilerplate bumps, not powder like he expected at Alta, that the ski off was invalid. The TRG all agreed that was a bogus excuse and demanded 4ply reimburse digitaldeath’s $37 lift ticket. 4ply refused to pay up and mayhem ensued.
That is the origin of the $37 joke you see on here.

Back in the day didn’t Highway Star have the habit of calling everyone out for a ski-off or am I mixed up?
There was some crazy stuff that went down back in the day before social media took off. This place is so tame now in comparison. In constant pursuit of the perfect slarve...

What’s crazy is that it wasn’t that long ago that Alta had $37 lift tickets. Now it’s $141 before taxes and that’s low season pricing. Bet that’s worth the extra minute of flats to get to the bottom of Supreme. Or do you ski Alta for all the snowmaking they’ve put in? Or is it the new extension on alfs that pushes it over the top. Huge price increase without much changing. It was $79 in 2013.
