    WTB: skate ski setup

Mrs C wants a skate ski setup -- so I'm looking for:

    Skis: 185-190cm, with bindings
Boots: 9 1/2 or Euro 42, to fit those bindings
    Poles: around 155cm

    Anyone have anything?

I have no idea what it's worth or what shipping would be, but I have 190 skis, 160 poles and 9.5 boots.

Somehow I missed this - sending PM.

And bump, as I'm still looking.

A friend in Portland Oregon has a pair of iirc 41 2/3 boots for sale.
(I forgot to bring them back with me during my July volcano trip in 2019, then 2020 was, well, you know.)
And I have a pair of 187cm skate skis I can sell with bindings. All Pilot system.
    No poles though.

Make sure to check flex on skis...my 186 skate skis are flexed for 175-195. Wouldn’t be very fun for lighter skier.

How can you tell? Are they labeled? I know nothing about skate skis.

Often there's a weight range in kg stamped somewhere near the binding area. You can get away with skis that flex a little too heavy or light, but light-flexing skis are going to be hard to keep tracking straight on hard snow, and heavy-flexing skis might feel like they get hung up a bit or push more snow around on soft snow.

On that note, Nordic skis also come in soft, firm or universal flex profiles for a given flex weight, which corresponds to how quickly the skis soften up as you move from the center of the flex towards the tip and tail. Hard snow skis have stiffer tips and tails than soft snow skis for a given flex weight. Add onto that different grinds for different temperatures/snow types and race quivers can get pretty deep...but the only numbers that matter if you're only going to buy one pair are flex weight and length.

^^^^ It can get crazy, so don't sweat it. Try and get something for your weight, (if you're going used). FYI, WC skiers have about 100 pairs for every scenario.

here is a reasonable (though basic) breakdown
    https://www.skatepro.com/en-us/a845.htm

notice if you look at the skis they have weight ranges listed (skate) or flex rating (classic) - though there is usually a body weight conversion for flex type chart for the classic.

for reference me: 5'10 - 165 main skate skis are 186, but stiff. my wife is decidedly smaller than I am and her primary skate skis are 187, but soft.

if possible you can do the paper test https://ebsadventure.com/blogs/news/...-ski-equipment

Thanks Jonathan - I ordered Mrs C skis and bindings yesterday. Those would be too small for her anyway, but I appreciate it.
