Does he get the previously promised $20 if he dolphin turns down the 45 deg chute? Or is that a separate promotion?
This thread is fucking gold, btw. Thanks, bushy.

Why arent Releasable poles straps the standard?
You seem serious, sport. That’s weird.
I’m in Michigan, far enough away that a trip to VT is an all day adventure. It’ll take 3 days minimum to get out there and back. To be clear, I haven’t expressed an interest in your chute, and I’m not interested in some uncomfortable ski off. I’m not sure three days to ski some chute in VT plus $1k is worth the vacation time I’d have to burn to do it. But I’m listening. Where would I be staying in this adventure?focus.

I came to post a couple reasons why straps are good but I feel like I just went to get drinks at a bar and when I came back everyone is arguing.

Putting aside the lulz of that 45 degree Vermont gnar, internet ski offs, etc.
Do you jongs not actually know how to use pole straps? Most people don't. They don't really go around your wrists... they go over your four fingers and then against the inside of your palm as you hold the pole. So it's easy to let them go if needed but also easier to hang on to them.

Do they speak English in what? This thread is fantastic.
Whole hand up through the strap and down onto the grip. It’s easier to grab the pole in a race if you lose it for whatever reason. Have to finish course with all gear for time to count.
Am I making that up? Maybe. Maybe not.
Not a lot of other reasons to “strap up” if weighing risk and reward. I do like having straps on my BC poles for a lot of reasons but I don’t wear them when skiing. Regular poles, straps or no straps, you’re riding a chair to ski so who cares? Whether you use them and on what day is a very personal decision.
I guess we’ve reached peak gear talk or jongs have learned to use the search function and it’s already been covered if this is the late February banter we’re seeing. Congratulations to you all mags. We’ve done it. This Buds for you.
I have enjoyed my time here.

You mean a "sleeve" of beer, not a "pint? Thats a British Columbia thing.
Had a pint of beer at your local pub lately? Not likely, and certainly not legally.
It turns out the pint does not technically exist in British Columbia, due to a strange and disparate brew of federal and provincial regulations.
The federal government insists that anyone who claims to be selling a pint in Canada had better pour a full Imperial pint measuring 20 ounces, or 568.26 millilitres.
The province’s Liquor Control and Licensing Branch, however, stipulates that individual servings of draft beer cannot exceed 500 millilitres or 17.5 ounces — effectively legislating a legal pint out of existence in British Columbia.
