We went to Japan a couple of years ago and wife loved it. She want's to go next year. On previous trip she brought BMT 122's in a 176 and thought they were perfect. Sold those last year so looks like I will need to replace them.
Wife 5'9" and +/- 150lb. technically a very good skier but getting more low key as she gets older. She's leaning more towards lightweight skis and wants to take essentially a fat touring setup as we will be doing a lot of climbing for turns. Heavier than a BMT 122 (1,850 grams per ski) need not apply but 115mm-125mm underfoot desired. Pegging the float/surf meter in the pow while being honest and competent when cruising groomers back to the lift is the goal. High speed stability is not too important but the more immune to shitty off piste conditions the better. She is very favorably disposed toward reverse camber. Will be put into the rotation for local touring after the trip.
I've been building a list of possibilities in my head and here's what I got so far:
Bent Chelter 120 - 176 or 184
JJ UL 115 - 175 or 185
Pescado - prolly the first gen that weigh a little less
Helio 115 or 116 - 177/176
Nocta - 177 (not sure if this is too heavy)
Wildcat Tour - 179
Maybe just need to find another pair of BMT 122's?
Will do everything I can to get her on a demo prior to purchase. This is all assuming that her knee problems get sorted out before next season. What am I missing???
