A day ticket is required the day you heli as well, and I read the conditions of the heli drop the same way you do, but I'd email them to confirm.

One path is Base Spring Pass + Premium Pass Upgrade + Powder Pass UPGRADE gets you a $99 standby day ticket + $39 heli.
Otherwise it's the usual day ticket + heli price.

$10 price increase. Seems to me they didn't meet their quota? You can get one still for $199 as of today just FYI...

Big increase for guided...$189 -> $249 per day.
Fingers crossed for "Buy X Days, Get 1 Drop / Day free" deals.

Jesus. That's spendy. For two guided days you could go cat skiing at some places.

It is what it is. I'm a homer, so I'll make it work.
$249 does it make it challenging to get a full crew down there for multiple days.
Perhaps the price increase will fund additional snowmaking across the east side cliff band

Wouldn't surprise me if there are a lot of Frangers like me that found a lot of value in the $200 pass last year (unguided + bonus resort days at Abasin etc)...but at $300 it's pretty different dynamic.

I got one this morning for 199->215 including tax and fees.
Surprised it only went up by $10.
The guided price increase to 249 is big. Have to say that spurred the unguided pass purchase.
I've only done guided, taking advantage of BOGO and other deals.
During unguided can you ski solo? I figure with Beacon shovel probe you have to go with others? if i show up solo think I can just glom onto a group? I'm assuming they run the bus during unguided?
I'm taking a sabbatical next spring and plan on going for two weeks, getting 10 days unguided in.

    Yes, I do a lot.

No, you can go alone, but some of the tree runs are not frequented. It's good to have a partner.

It's usually pretty easy to find partners.

You'll get more than your moneys worth at $21.50 a day.

pass arrived today! woot! figuring out a trip: fly to denver and ski a basin, then some time at aspen then a week or two at silverton. They say no car camping in their lot. Any places around there that are good to go? This trip I might rent something I can sleep in and try that route. In the past I rented a place with buddies but looks like this trip will be solo.

There's a few trailer lots in town.

Plus, despite the "rules" along CR110 from town up to the ski area, lots of people are camping in the turnouts. Just be aware of which ones are near slide paths.

Bill sold the Triangle and prices went way up, but there's still the Silverton Hostel: http://silvertoninnandhostel.com/ .

(edit: looks like the Hostel was bought by the same people who bought the Triangle and The Prospector....)

If the snow's decent, head over to Telluride too.

Up 2 past Venture is a decent option for car-camping, if the road is open.

    Silverton Unguided roll call 2021

If you need a roof, Avon also has some nice bunkrooms and a very chill ambience.

A Silverton mini Summit would be pretty cool. I don’t think there has been one in past years?

Refresh my memory on the parking situation as I couldn't find it on their website. I've secured lodging with my pup but for that last day skiing, after I check out, can I bring my dog with me and leave in his car (it's really his den on wheels) while I ski? Same thing I would do when traveling to ski areas with my pup. He sleeps while I ski. Assuming cooler weather and all that. Just want to make sure they don't have a hard and fast rule against dogs.

No dogs allowed to roam, people do leave their dogs in their cars.

Haven't pulled the trigger on a pass yet as I think I may spend a good chunk of March elsewhere this year, but if anyone is passing through Montrose and needs anything throughout the winter, feel free to hit me up.
