Good thing she wasn't a he with dangling bits to latch onto.
I've always taken a couple squares of white gold, lit it and sent it down the pit. It scares the packrats away, and the bit of smoke protects the arse from skeeter bites during the bug season. Taught the daughter to do the same, and her eyes got big when she saw a pair of beady little eyes looking back up at her at one campsite outhouse.

Doesn't sound too bad, fairly similar to dogs. Human bites are another matter--really nasty stuff in our mouths. She'll want to be careful wiping her ass though.
Now if you think swabbing the inside of a bear's mouth is rough, try giving one a covid test.

I think not.
In fact, I'm pretty sure just being in close proximity to that filthy beast would be terminal.
How does one get a bear out of the toilet's collection pit/box??
It does seem like the bear must have been pretty small, assuming it dove done through the seat aperture, though, so maybe easier than I'm thinking: tip it over, wait for walking poop smear to exit under it's own power, maybe even entice it out some febreeze.
