WTB: Alpine Trekkers, Secura fix, etc. AT adapters for my 5 year old...
Looking for a pair of AT adapters to cut down to get my 5 year old into the BC and away from the Freakin lifts.... Thanks for any help!

You can cut down old silvrettas and I believe some other frame bindings. There is a thread somewhere. That option would be better than day wreckers.

Thanks, I"m really looking for something to get him out on his current alpine setup without too much tweaking...I get they're not perfect, but at this point it will be more like "backcountry" trails where I might just take my fischer s-bounds and leathers instead of my backcountry tele setup.

Another option: my kids toured on 3 pin gear until they were 9-10. Didn't have to worry about release and they made alpine turns. Never had an issue, including skiing low angle backcountry stuff like Gulf of Slides at Mt. Washington. Alpine boots/skis/trekkers is a shit-ton of weight for a 5 year-old to be lugging up a hill, in addition to it being pretty elevated and awkward. Might be worth looking into, especially if you can find some good kid boots like the G Rex or the old orange Teledactyls.

Thanks for the input, appreciate it. Thats a pretty good thought too and good comparison. Thinking mostly Bolton, VT backcountry and maybe some small hidden stashes in the mounsfield/hump area. Yeah, I've had my eyes our for some teledactyls....they dont come up very often!!!!! I'm a tele skier, so It is where my roots are anyway...
I did think about potentially some old Ramers since they are super light and should be stiff enough for a 5 year old, ha!

Yeah if you are thinking Bolton BC, some easy Mansfield side country, catamount trail, that type of thing, I would give it serious consideration. I used any skis I could find/pick up at a swap, threw on some 3 pins, and used either kicker skins (which are plenty long for small kids skis) or Xtra Blue kick wax the length of the ski, and we were good. My kids did plenty of adventures on that set up!
