    RIP Chick Corea

Pretty much changed the course of my life listening to his music in middle school and seeing him live at the Blue Note at that time.

    One of the GOATs.

Damn. What a legend. What a career.

Had the pleasure of seeing him and Herbie Hancock together in Denver few years back. Amazing show. Just the 2 of them. Like dueling pianos almost. The music just emanated forth out of both of them.

    RIP

Definitely one of the GOATs. I'm gutted.

I was hudgely into jazz fusion in high school. Over the years, I saw Return to Forever, saw Chick with an acoustic band, saw him with his electric band, saw him and Bobby McFerrin riffing together on stage. Such beautiful talent, such beautiful music.

RIP. Hope you're jamming with the other greats in the sky right now.

Chick's genius was too much for this planet. He's traveled onto the next system to teach the people with his music.

God damn...everyday all sorts of people are checking out this year and now this. I loved Return to Forever. What a major bummer this news is. Going to throw on some vinyl Romantic Warrior and open a nice bottle of red.

They had some big scientology rally in Portland circa late 80's where he played for free. I went with a bunch of friends to see him and everyone there wanted to talk about how "it" saved their lives but we didn't know what the fuck they were talking about. I guess being 17 and baked out of our minds didn't clue us in about the whole event. We just heard "free show" including Frank Stallone, Sylvester's musical brother.

Such an incredibly sad loss I only saw him once (that I remember) and he absolutely floored me. I was into his work for years before that, just hadn't gotten around to making it to one of his shows. Now I'm so sorry that I didn't make more of an effort to see him more often but that's always the way it goes isn't it.
