In order to properly convert this thread to a polyasshat thread to more fully enrage the liberal left frequenting here...... (insert latest democratic blunder of your choice).

i've been sober for a while now, battled it off and on which i think most ppl do.

had a good relationship w beeries for a long time, then it turned darker and was just heavy drinking all the time..

pretty stoked to be calm clear and such.

this is a really good piece, honest and sobering!

Quit THC when I was down in Florida, and I don’t really miss it. I’m like sober-sober, prolly the first time since I was 14. Will I get high again, yeah prolly. Will I ever drink again, nah man. Gonna keep rolling the sober train for the foreseeable future.

some real talk, albeit controversial radio. Not a big O & A fan but they get into it, which is good for many

Recovery Dharma is a good program. My ex GF was doing it and leading some meetings. I went to a few meetings and thought it seemed less shaming than AA and was more on the Buddhist/meditative angle instead of Christian based.

    6 so far

Six years clear for me last month. Seems for some, like me, you just have to shit all over yourself for so long before none of it is fun anymore. Long time coming for me, thought I could do myself, like most of us. Well I failed miserably at fixing myself and succumbed to treatment…I was finally away from the abuse long enough for the pain and destruction of my past to sink in. Working for me so far, or course if I was to start up again I think my liver would explode shortly there after, so that’s a deterrent. Some don’t survive long enough shitting themselves to get to that point I was/am one of the lucky souls. Thoughts and prayers to those still suffering, don’t give up!!

Lost a 2nd friend this summer to OD. Both were buds who I mostly knew in social circle, bar type settings, with deeper afterparty night shenanigans on occasion. One I worked with at two different companies. Both to fentanyl.. Our relationships had mostly turned into acquaintance status over the last 10 years or so mostly due to moving in different directions.
Thought I’d share to inspire others to stay on path

Yah I’m getting to the age where peers are falling off dealing with life’s struggles.
Worst thing about the recent one is that he left a 14 year old behind with an already broken home. I’m afraid that’s going to leave a mark
