Never Alone is a good online meeting, based out of Boston and meets 3 times a day. Usually like 250+ people in the 730 pm group, but they are focused on helping newcomers and can hook you up with a temporary sponsor if you're looking for that. Its also the home group of a prominent Boston based musician (who shall remain anonymous )
Also for anyone looking, check out the Meeting Guide phone app (white chair on blue background). It has both in person and Zoom meetings and you can search by day, time, location, etc.
Congrats on 10 years, huge accomplishment!Last edited by JayPowHound; 02-21-2021 at 04:52 PM.

I’ve never had an alcohol problem. But damn, the last 3 months I think I learnt how hard it is. Never before in my life have I not been able to leave the store without a bottle of wine. I think I’ll be all right, but damn I feel for those way down the road with this problem.

Just checkin in. If I can make it through today, I'll be at 122 days; 4mos...since appx 10pm on 10/24.
My longest stint in maybe three decades. It makes perfect sense...until you think about it.
I suspect there's logic behind the madness, but I'm too dumb to see it.

how’s everyone doing?
I’m finishing up my DUI classes today. Exit interview next Monday, then I can get rid of interlock and get unrestricted license.
Things are going good otherwise. Finally reassigning some of the blame and shame I’ve been carrying around that really wasn’t mine. I’ve been working on some new things, got a new job offer, met a nice girl...I didn't believe in reincarnation when I was your age either.

Congrats on the DUI exit, to quote a semi sorta famous singer/songwriter.It gets easier, but it never gets easy.I have been in this State for 30 years and I am willing to admit that I am part of the problem.

Good luck Mikey. The "I got loaded again because I was newly sober and started to date a chick who drinks" story is like super super common. Prove us wrong.

yeah I get it
I bought her the wine because I didn’t want her to worry about it.
She knows the score and she wouldn’t hang out with me if I drank.
She only drank one glass because she didn’t want to even get buzzed around me.
The thing is I could just walk 2 min to the store and buy IPA if I wanted to drink.
Chardonnay? yukI didn't believe in reincarnation when I was your age either.

My parents are supposedly not drinking at all now. For health reasons. My mom never drank much, but my dad was a fucking professional. They're visiting in May and idk how I'm supposed to cope. I mean, I'll have to drive them places, so that's a start but, um, guess I'll keep water around.
My dad had a TIA this time last year. Guess drinking isn't good for that? I thought blood thinners were good for preventing strokes.
(He may have also, even before that, got that thing where you can start blacking out more and more easily, so, yeah.)
No idea how they are coping with being home all the time without drinking. Fortunately, it's a big house they have.

Glad to see people are doing well.
I am working now. Going on 3 weeks. Just got off a zoom meeting with offshore. Starting work at 4 and 5 in the morning is rough.
I just got my first paycheck. So I don't really have anything to complain about.
I have been drinking wine. I should not be.
But not physically addicted to alcohol like before. I can go a few days and not become disabled.
I have work to do. A very fine line between feeling good and going off the rails.
Guess that's all I gotOwn your fail. ~Jer~

My ex GF was abusing wine. Had to detox 5x while I was with her. She kept trying to fool herself into thinking she was handling it. Wine is alcohol. Take care.
