I'm a Croat (well, part of me- gots a Croatian last name at least). Yes, it's nasty and we love it!
And damn, SFB, you have to fish more than any other mag. You may be a hudger fly fisherman than the "I'm a hudge flyfisherman guy". Props for lugging a rod to the homeland!

The local river always fishes so good in April. Definitely one of my favorite months of the year.

Made a run to warmer climates. Mediocre fishing, great views and priceless to be sitting on the water in the sun drinking a cold beer

2021 GILL FUCKERS COMMUNITY THREAD
With the hill a gooey mess & 70deg weather, I decided to try out my 10’ 3 wt and the flies I’d started to learn how to tie this winter.
My Euro casting is not tight at all.
On the bright side, I picked up a frenchie, some kind of perdigon & a sculpin from a nearby tree while I recovered my own rig at the first spot I stepped in. Net fly count: +3 And bonus affirmation that I’m not the only asshat that liked the look of the spot but couldn’t cast a tight window. At least I cleaned up some plastic from the trees...
I was happy to connect on a hare’s ear and a caddis pupa I had tied. I gave a few I tied to my buddy as well and he hit on a perdigon and the hare’s ear as well
Burned my hands which haven’t seen sunshine in months and caught a few fish

Cool stuff here. Just getting back into fly flailing after a long hiatus. Looking forward to regularly getting stiffed on the Metolius.
Saw this and had a flashback to my college days. One of my roommates was really into tying. One day his sometimes live-in girlfriend left after him and apparently forgot to close his BR door completely.
That afternoon I’m in my room next door, hear him come up the stairs, then yelling “GODDAMN MOTHERFUCKING ASSHOLES” or something to that effect.
Looked out the door just in time to see the two house cats flying down the stairwell, in the classic thrown-cat position. The air in his room was filled with feathers, like a pillow just exploded.
He blamed the cats, the rest of us blamed the GF. Other than the replacement cost, it was funny as fuck.
He broke up with GF 3mos later
Deschutes? White River?

I mean, I guess it makes sense, I just didn’t think there were squawker’s on the Deschutes. It would be cool if there was like a sub thread for squawkers.
