ANOTHER JAUNT
Came to share the hardest ride I've ever done. 60 miles, 9000 feet of climbing. I dont know the ratios, but mostly singletrack, a bit of chunky and steeeeep class 4, and a tiny bit of road. I totally cracked at about 6 hrs in. With about 1.5 hours left though, everything came back though and I felt better than I did at the start. Took about 10 hrs with a wheel repair and gas station lunch. Highly recommend, so much variety. Will be even better when the velomont is finished. My head went to some dark places, but impressed with how my body did.

Sounds like a nice one!
I assume you went through the closure ribbons and signage on the singletrack off Cushman road? They might have blown down?
That section is the pilot project for MTB trails in State Wildlife Management Areas. “Pilot” meaning that this section could possibly not be adopted - ie. it could be closed if we don’t follow the rules. This would also potentially impact future trails in other areas… just a thought.

Misty and cool along the Coast. Perfect really
Nice effort s_curran!
@single how’d the repair effort go on the carriage trails? Those pics you posted in the spring looked like some heavy damage

Another nice lap today after the Sun broke out. Scoped my local “backcountry zone” that fills in to be skiable about once a decade.
Welcome hball - 15 years and 25 posts before today. Sounds like you know the neighborhood, maybe you should hang out here more often.
Single, is that Dorr?

Yes… I think that was about the same storm/timeframe as I last BC skied on the Island in Feb. 2015
I have a video somewhere I may try to dig up.
Yeah I literally ride Hball childhood trails weekly. Heck his Moto Trails became my back yard Single track loop. I try to forget some of his middle work by Slate Valley is amazing.
Leafy log hops and love the dry crunch noises
