you can descend from sterling right to the matterhorn....

Ahoy New Englanders! My kid just got his first car (2008 forester fancy LLBEAN shit), no trailer hitch but has factory 'aero racks' so I am looking for a both-wheels-on roof tray or two for him. Maybe you have one collecting dust you would like to sell. These are expensive to ship. We will drive up from Cape Cod to VT50 this weekend so covering some ground and could pick up. I have some thule square bars if you want them, I also have a pair of very old 1upUSA trays that only fit square or round bars and don't really work for 29ers.
    Danke!
I think I have a Yakima, let me check the garage.

I have 2 like-new Yakima's that hold the wheels and have marks for 29'ers on them (sold the car I bought them for a few years ago). I'm on NH seacoast (UNH area) $120 for the pair?
Most similar to this one: https://www.biketiresdirect.com/prod...sal-roof-rack?
I checked with my new 29er stumpy and fits 29 x 2.3 at least with plenty of space.

VT 50 roll call? Laps? Peruvian?
And if you don't have plans for Sunday, come volunteer! Sweep the course, ride your bike and get free food.

Did a local lap down to the Skunk Hollow sag station and then back up the other side of the ridge on course- cheered folks on pedaling against the grain. Great day for the race. Hope your son did well.

Edit: Update- just saw this father and son made it across the finish. Sick job fellas.

Isn’t that a “race”? Don’t look for me at such events.

I spent the weekend at KTA for our annual boys weekend. We had 19 total with a rotating cast of characters during the weekend. l

    Nice work Mr. Laps, sir.

    Late to respond, sorry.

I gotta say that you have done an unbelievable job creating a great network, hats off.

We rode there three weeks ago and did some exploring based on a Strava track from Peruvian and an email from Surface Whore. Ran into SW and The Driven One on Cliffhanger heading opposite directions, was like old home day. Hadn't ridden outside for 3 weeks due to tweaking a knee climbing the sapline route back from Flatbread on the gravel bike so didn't go too long.

    Sunrise was nice yesterday soooo......

Lurker Jerry and I returned , it was much quieter, and rode Cotton Candy Fluff>Clown>BigT>Carnie>Connector[missed Back 9 due to no sign]Porc>Hunker>L-Upper Ledges>Back9>Connector>Clown>CCFluff. 3 1/2 of moving time 18.4miles and a fun time exploring. Didn't see another rider until a first stop at the Carnie lookout.

Really love the flow of the trails and the low impact feel. There is really very little sign of the work done and the "ribbon of tread in the forest" is all I saw. Everything new here is high impact w/ piles of leftover rock and unfilled borrow holes in abundance along with a wide tread.
Had a few flashbacks on Carnie of Rastaman in the 90's darting through the trees on the sidehill area.
The climbs, which would be fun descents, had a great mix of flowy climbing and enough level area to bring the heart rate down. You are lucky to have such cool topography to work with, looking at the Strava track with the twists and turns is really cool. View over the lake was prime!

Rode some of the new trail until we realized it wasn't Back9 and found B9 to return. Finished up and ran into Bill A in the lot [crazy ride he did] and chatted for a half hour+. Should be back at least once more to ride the Birds and the new trail before you close up.
Again, You and C.. have done a commendable job!

Ended up in Brandon for some RCAC brews, music and food

I camped next to Laps. He asked for change for a nickel.
It's a pretty cool feeling to ride this with your kid. I've been doing the vt50 on and off since before he was born, single speed a few times and running.
It was also super fun going at a much slower pace and stopping at the aid stations and chatting and eating tons of untapped maple stuff. Just enjoying it.
Kid finished but was gassed. But he finished. There were 4 kids in his age group. He almost podiumed.
Hope everyone got out today. Weather was September perfection.

Thanks to the guy who we asked to take our "before" pic. Real photography skillz

Ticket…order up some Splat CBD cream and start applying/massaging it in once the scab is gone and you’re fully closed. Good stuff that worked wonders on my abdominal incisions this Spring.

Good on knees, shoulders, backs as well. Recommend.

If y'all passed a red bearded weirdo gravel riding the wrong way on the course in Hartland, goofily cheering on every rider and runner, with a little lady on a gravel ride behind me giving out tour guide info to racers about the views... that was us

And riding with your kid, frickin' awesome- stoked for you both.

Let's ride Otis next time I'm on CC- that and Beebe Woods is where I learned to MTB.

Shark bite! Seriously though, heal fast. Details willing to share? Where..how? Dealing with that out in the woods must have sucked.

On another note, does anyone have a local source for frame protection tape? OGE, Skirack, OSH, and Earls don't currently have any.
