What the others said: mud season ends mid april to mid may depending on the season. the best riding is up in VT NH ME. If you are here before there is riding almost all year on Cape Cod. Soil is the sandy moraine from the last ice age so drains immediately and usually gets rain not snow in the winter. West coasters usual enjoy the Cape. you can PM me for specifics.
If you are around in mud season, lost of people go gravel riding.

Would look to hit must do/popular rides but also like gnarly backcountry adventures with good views and/or big descents.

So there’s a reason why this thread never gets any posts - IT’S GOT A STUPID TITLE. Can the OP please change it to something reasonable? I’ll contribute- rode 51 miles today and 58 miles yesterday- I hate pavement but its better than peanut butter gravel or mashed potato snow.

Yeah I knew that was going to be a problem but was having a total brain block as I started it and typed what I was thinking at the moment. I don't think I can change it.

Also from yesterday’s gravel ride to see how my local trails are during massive snow melt... you can guess the status

NE 2021 - May your chain be the only thing that sucks

NE 2021 - One by vs. Two by when it comes to the vax?

NE 2021 - More jabs, fewer dabs

NE 2021 - Flatten the berm

NE 2021 - new head crowns, not lock downs

I saw the first map before I read the post and was wondering why you didn’t go through Middlesex but the roads have been full-on mud season this week.

The nice weather definitely has me thinking about my bike but the snow depths are telling me to keep skiing.

We will be really close to all dirt after today just in time for spring ahead. Frozen dirt is pretty darn fun to ride and building can commence before the bugs launch.

    Just bought a backup chain

I would be skiing if my knee wasn’t still recovering from surgery- no downhill for me until next winter. Curious- how would I go through Middlesex to improve the Montpelier-Waterbury-Elmore loop? Do you mean up minister brook-molly’s supple-east hill rd?

    Right on!

Funny, because I'm focusing on building mini berms just to grab a tire on many speed suck and/or wash out corners.

    Thanx baby bear

Yeah for me it's not about eliminating the berms it's about flattening them, it's about reducing them from the silliness it has become.
