Insuring a privately owned Piston Bully?

Anyone done this? I’m having a hard time finding a way to do this as a private owner?

You just looking for basic liability to get on the road, or do you need full on collision?

If you're going big with a Pisten Bully, why not just get a BV206, the tracks are street legal and those things can go just about anywhere a PB can

Check out Hagarty Insurance...their business is specialty cars/vehicles. You will likely have to get a stated value policy vs. a agreed value policy. There are a few other carries that will do stated value policies but this is a place to start.

Find an agent who does agricultural equipment and ask them. This sort of thing seems more similar to farm equipment than to cars or trucks.

Liability for utilization on forest service land and private property in and out to access a private residence during the winter as an alternative to snow mobiles.
I'll check the specialty stated value policy! Thanks

I've been told the farm policy will only cover on the property (Farm). Not going to and from, which is where all of the exposure really is.

What you’re asking for is very similar to what the large boat owners have to deal with. As the poster said above, an agreed-upon value policy is going to be the best avenue for you.

A recent bill of sale, or even better, estimators evaluation will set the base price that the insurance policy will need to be working around.

Try Oasis insurance, they were the only company that could get me an insurance policy for trail building.

Are you using the cat to groom the trails?

There are a bunch of private cabins on the back side of Aspen. Most still use Snowmobiles, but a few had cats.
Most of those, have switched to UTV’s with Mat-track’s.
One of my buds had an old cat, that was a maintenance nightmare.

Looks like Allstate will insure your moon rover on the moon, so I'm not sure why they wouldn't do a Piston Bully?

BUT hey also have a disclaimer "do not try" when these 2 ladies jump their moon rover on the moons 1.62 m/s² gravity.

Op is looking for LIABILITY insurance. So he can run on forest land.
Not insurance on the vehicle cost.

No help here, other than calling other snow cat operations and politely asking who their carrier is.

    Good luck

Went to an annual sno cat jamboree this weekend. Got up early and shot 2 rolls of film and met some great folks who were a hoot and extremely passionate.

Wish I had the whole day to party with them.
