Learn to Tele - Instant sex appeal*

Looking to up your steeze factor to eleven in the lift line?
Enjoy self abuse and occasional (or frequent) public humiliation?
    Want those toenails gone?

If you answered yes tele is for you!
Up for grabs is a pair of heavily used 186 Gotama's with 7tm binders + 1 set of extra holes for extra lightness.
They have been used and used hard, but are still a ripping pair of hippy sticks.

What's that? Not long enough? Not skinny enough? Not hopelessly out of date enough?
How about a pair of 191 Atomic TM-EX? They may have 7tm bases or a full set of bindings if I can find another set in my spares.

No boots? No problem. Size 11.5ish Scarpa T2s of the dark blue vintage.

I'll post pics of the Atomics and Scarpas tomorrow.

*sex appeal only applies to hippy chix

Gear is located in NE Seattle, it will not be shipped.

Tell me why you want to learn to tele below and they are yours for the asking.

Don't you have to tell your parents something after you start teleing...? I forget.

I tried teleing this year to entertain me on boring groomer days but it is literally the worst. I understand it when BC gear wasn't as common as it is now but its just a silly sport.

I tried teleing this year to entertain me on boring groomer days. It was literally the worst... then I took a lesson and brought out the tele sticks a few more weekends. My pants now fit tighter in the crotch and New Jersey broads can't seem to help themselves. 11/10.

30 years ago at a molehill in MA (no longer live there but I'm a Masshole forever) I gave it a whirl. I had been alpine skiing for 25 years, was no longer racing and I was at a molehill so WTF try something new. I forgot that learning something new was a blast. Leather and skinny skis slowed me down, alot. Going slower meant being on the snow longer. Eventually plastic boots and wider skis (and a modicum of skill) enabled me to go faster. Tele made me a better alpine skier too. Injuries, age and outofshapeness led me back to a fixed heel. Yes, it is anachronistic and not easy (at first) but it's worth the effort if you want to slow down to ski with your little kids (or grandchildren) or you want a challenge. Easy to bash it but your tele buddies who can ski anything you can are better skiers

    truth

I took a similar route- alpine'd forever; then got hooked on tele 20 years ago during a trip out to Alta.

Makes skiing in the land of tilted skating rinks / teaching the little one fun.

As i have slipped to the wrong side of 50- I am beginning to have thoughts of migrating back to fixed heels for trips out west.

Learning something new w/ kids and do fine on groomers now, but good god skiing moguls (especially icy) on tele is impressive as hell after trying it.

I haven't found the boots, but I will keep looking. It's possible I gave them away already.
Here are the Atomics, still in decent shape for a pair of teenagers. They rip the corduroy but if conditions are at all icy you need some serious mass (>200#) to make them bite in a tele turn, best to just stand up and ski like all the other gapers out there.

If there is interest I will even offer up a pair of sz13 snofields and 210 fischer GTS with Rivas to the first person who commits to pulling the pad off chair 2 and hitting international on them.

I might even bust out the leather and join you!

There should be covid tele resurgence.

When stuck in your home state, having nothing but mole hills and converted landfills, tele is your friend.

    Or even fruitbooting.

Or tele fruitbooting for the ultimate challenge.
