Need suggestions for a free GoPro edit tool
Son got a new GoPro8 for Christmas.
Am trying to find a program that will allow simple editing of clips to create a movie. Nothing fancy -- just something to upload to youtube and send to the grandparents.
Used Movavi and loved it until I realized the free version put a watermark across the video and was only good for a week.
Have used Davinci Resolve 16 and am about to tear my hear out -- buggy, crashing, won't render, etc.
Any recommendations for a free editing tool that does not require a graphics degree and can be done on a basic laptop? TIA.

^ That's probably the way to go. I've used the free version of Lightworks, but it barely runs on my 6-year-old laptop and can only export up to 720p.

Thanks -- I should have specified I am looking for desktop use, not phone. Seems that GoPro no longer offers a desktop platform.

Can Windows Movie Maker edit go pro videos? It's free. I use it to do simple edits of cell phone videos.

Do you have PC or Mac? If latter - then iMovie. If PC - davinci resolve is really good. Give it another try. I use it daily for editing gameplay videos and it’s the best tool among free ones with features available only in paid software.
