MT sorry for no response. We moved last month and I'm just getting the new place in order and what with all the unpacking and all, haven't watched a bit of TV, so been missing much tennis. Promise to get back at it for Wimbledon.

    Watching fed got me thinking.

He is far and away the greatest grass player of all time.

Nadal, greatest clay player of all time.

Who’s got that hard court title?

I'll give you Raffa on clay.
Grass... damn, my head says Fed. But watching Borg in his heyday (and knowing he couldn't always get to Australia when it was on grass ... I would love to see Borg in his prime vs Fed. Laver also should be in the discussion, although even given my advanced age I can't say I remember him playing.
Hard court... tough one since the Aussie is now on hard courts. But, I would have to say Fed, although as much as I hate to admit it Djoko has to be in the discussion. And how would Jimmie C in his prime fair against Fed or Djoko??..
Great question BMills. And really, is there a correct answer (other than mine)... I think not.

Ugh.. just checked the score in the FAA/Zverev match... damn I wish I wasn't working. Go Felix, close this motherfucker out kid !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

has to be. Not a fan either but you'd be hard-pressed to find a more clutch, mentally-tough player. period. and he's got several more years left to fill the nadal/fed void I just don't see Sissypas or anyone else seriously challenging him.

Found this the other day and it's damn scary when you realize Dojovic is 6-2 and shapova is lookin him in the eye.

in addition to being stupid hot.

Wow, outstanding match between Shapo and Karen. Highly entertaining, high level play. Shapo now the last lefty left in the tourney. One down, one to go. Allez FAA!

Ouch, 6 love in the 3rd.. Did he get hurt?

Felix has to pick it up here. His Italian buddy sure has game. Cool that Felix and Berrettini's girfriends are cousins. Gotta be tough to play your buddy on such a big stage.

not a big tennis fan but i shoulda been.

found out today fed, Dojovic and nadal all are tied for #1 in major wins with 20. considering they've been playing in the same era; probably most majors in the past 10 years was 2 of those 3 for the major, 2 of the best all time going head to head. sampras and andre didnt go head to head that much.

The greatest match of all time in my opinion (bonus cause I was there) was Agassi-Sampras in the 2001 US Open Quarterfinal in which every set went to a tiebreaker and neither player broke the other's serve. Only shitty thing was that Pete won.

^ I'll take the 2019 wimbelton final for 200 Alex. I mean, the dude we hate saved two match points in a 5th set tiebreaker against the GOAT. THE goat.

It don't get no more clutch than that.

Well, well. Interesting development. Nice break for Berrettini. Hope he's not injured and can move for the rest of the match. Damn Djoko's tough though these days

Haha! I'm a fucking lightweight buddy. Getting a refill soon though. Much better match than I was expecting. It's great-weird to see full crowds in stands! Go science. Set 3!

Well hey, was hoping for at least a good match and wasn't disappointed too much. Woulda liked a 5 setter though...
So it's 20, 20, 20 now eh. Still think it's remarkable how with just one stroke if the racket, the goat discussion could be altered. Was thinking the last time fed played djoko for a slam with one net cord going in, or ball catching a mm of the line it could be 21, 20, 19 (fed, Raffa, djoko). The mind reels (especially after morning drinking and hoot).

Pretty good match between Osaka and Bouzkova right now.

    Also, Lindsey Vonn is there.

I love this tournament so much, but I’m gonna be missing Fed and Rafa for sure this year.
