What huge left-handed forehands out of Fernandez; great ground game!

Helleva match to watch. I don't have much of a dog in the fight but Mrs. MT pulling Hard for sabalenka. "Journeyman player who has had to work her way up." JHC she was just pounding the ball. Did as much as anyone has against Fernandez. Softmore year will tell the tape.

Hope FAA can do it but I'm a realist. Djokovic in 4. going out on a limb there.

Even taking into account these are highlight clips, the level of play (and power) is indeed very impressive! Should be a great final!

    Quick look back...

Damn, Felix needed to win one of those set points in the second. Gonna be a tough road now. Medvedev playing good tennis.

Hear hear! Zverev, Medvedev would be an entertaining final. Also would likely have the most letter "V"'s in a men's final slam ever.

Zverev needed that 3rd set. This needs to go 5.

Some REALLY long rally’s. It’s like a video game. Very entertaining match

A list of people that have beaten Djoko more than once in a 5 setter:

As much as I like to see him get beat, there's no doubt he's gotta be in the goat conversation. Fuck.

Yeah, thanks man. It was a helluva run for Felix and really great to see him beat some big guns. But hey, we still got Leylah! Tomorrow will be fun.
And, hey congrats djoko you bastard. I think he just broke the tie for most grand slam finals.

Sunday should be good. Med is playing well, and I get to day drink!

So, Fernandez and Raducano put on a nice final. Lotta hype there, teenagers, etc. but a good match for a 2 setter. Fernández got a bit over the top with complaining to the umpire before and after the match was over re the medical time out. Also took more time than she should have yakking during the trophy presentation. A little too full of herself. Raducano fortunately was above it all. These gals, however, have set a new standard vs the old school Statue of Liberty ladies, Pliskova, etc. Whole new ball game.

Oh, and one more thing, Fernandez saying next year she hopes to be holding the “right” trophy. (Eye roll)

Djoko's return of serve and overall play looking shaky. Wouldn't think fitness would be an issue as Djoko seems to be one of the fittest guys on tour and he only had 1 5 setter this tourney. Should be an interesting match. Go Med!

Straight sets. Didn't see that coming. Nicely played Med, finally gets his breakthrough. First time in a long while we haven't seen Fed, Rafa or Djoko up there. Great moment.

Looks like his everything ran out. What's with the temper tantrums at the Olympics anyway? Is he not squeezing his juice well enough?

Yeah Sum, looked like he was running on fumes. Didn't see any of his Olympic meltdown. Haven't ever been a Djoko fan, then his Vax stance and his organizing a tourney at the height of Covid kind of sealed it for me.

Great US Open. I kinda expected more from Novak today.

Like last year with Thiem winning (over Zverev)?

    LOL.

I think Novak is in his own head with these once in a lifetime opportunity matches.
