I also think technology has allowed guys that would not be as competitive, to compete with less skill.

Tech has helped for sure, and Daly, even in his heyday was far from fit. Nicklaus was "fit" for his time, but c'mon none of the players at Tigers start were in the shape he was. All the guys today are gym focused. Back when I was 10 and started playing it was all about the 19th hole.

We saw 5 maybe 6 more that low and then 2 62s...

I was front row for Xanders hole out eagle and it was the most perfect golf shot I have seen live.

Fun day with Manhattan as the back drop.
I was "working" hole 15. Harold Varner on the 14th with the skyline in the background. I took a bunch of great pics from the 15th tee box.Click image for larger version.

I lived in the same dorm as JD in college, played basketball and football ( just pick up football but is was tackle, no flag shit) with him plenty, he was a decent athlete back then.

There were a couple guys on the golf team that could do 360 dunks, plenty of good athletes playing golf back in the day.

I think it was all about paying bills, gambling on golf, and having enough money to make it to the next tournament. It wasn't about being a multi-millionaire w guaranteed endorsement money, therefore no pressure, hauling around a team of trainers, therapists, chefs, and coaches on a charter flight.

The only modern day player not to succumb to the $$$$ was Tiger, the rest of them are rich, play a few tx btwn workouts and win here and there. To me that drive that Tiger has makes him GOAT in my book.

Even Tiger has been on record saying that JD had more natural athletic ability/skill than most on tour and that he wished he had that God-given talent instead of having to work for it.

JD just didn’t use it the way most would I think.
I still call it The Jake.

Tiger felt the same way about Phil early in their careers. Phil might be the most naturally talented of them all.

JD and Phil have silky, loose swings that help keep injuries away. Nothing rigid, mechanical looking.

They are blessed w superior mobility (ankles, hips, spine, and shoulders) which is the basic building block of an elite swing. That doesn't go away when you gain 100lbs, and wear loud pants.

Bryson missed an easy ft put on 18 (by a lot) to shoot 60 today. 60 on a wet course playing 7,400 yards is impressive. Long and straight = . Long and left/right = ☹️

My boy Cam needs to get it going. He’s due for his normal 60 in a round like his past few tournaments.

This is one of the best finishes I’ve seen in years. I don’t care who wins
The 325 yard plus drives hole after hole. Is a new thing

    Yeah. No.

Bryson can't buy a putt and Cantlay just won't go away. This is nuts.

Looked to me that someone yelled in the backswing on Bryson's lipped out putt. He yelled at the crowd and to his caddy. He was hot.
A few people feel the rain. Most people just get wet.
