^This is like Bethpage Black Mirror type shit.

[Another metric set to be used is the MVP Index rating, which calibrates the value of the engagement a player drives across social and digital channels. Golfweek’s report pointed out that this metric is generated by a company founded by Shawn Spieth, father of three-time major winner Jordan Spieth.
The final metric is Meltwater Mentions, or the frequency with which a player generates coverage across a range of media platforms.]

This explains why Phil has been crushing Twitter lately. I’m fine with it.

And I don’t buy $$ as motivation for Koepka. He and DeChambeau definitely hate each other going back a few years now.

    2021 PGA

Did he get vaccinated? Because if not, I feel like endless mockery is in order.

Seriously, if millions was on the line, how the fuck could you make the decision to skip the vaccination? Idiot.

(I recant all if he was a breakthrough case….)

And the PGA thought they had to give away 40 million for social media antics. This trumps any beef between the bashers.

From what I read, if players are vaccinated they don't have to get tested. However, apparently he was exposed to somebody who tested positive a few days ago, so that could be the reason why he was being tested. It will probably come out eventually.

In any case, sucks for him.

Why didn’t they let him play single, starting off first thing?

Because he surely knew the risk of not getting vaccinated

Sounds like, as he is asymptomatic, he would not have had daily tests like that unless he was not vaccinated. Bye bye 1.7 million and a tournament win.

    From ESPN:

"Asked if there was any way for Rahm to have continued in the tournament, via a one-person group or because golf is played outside and distancing is possible, Levinson said tour protocols don't allow it.

"We have followed our medical advisor's recommendations on this, and that is not something that any medical advisor that we worked with has suggested, that we would allow someone who is actively infected to participate in our competition, where we know that,'' Levinson said. "And it wouldn't be in line with the CDC's protocols as well, so I don't see us changing that particular protocol.""

He got tested because before the tournament started, he told the PGA that he’d been in contact with someone who had been infected.

Haven’t heard about his vaccination status

This will have a few more pros opting to get the poke. I'd wager less than 40% have been vaxed. His playing partner said he didn't need the vax as he already had the Covid. CDC recommends post Coved vaccination as length of post infection immunity is unknown. PGA, meh?

Heard on the local sports station the PGA says just over 50% are vaccinated.

This. He surely had opportunity in and among his world travels to get vax'd. Not doing it was the shot that took him out of the munny. I'm sure his sponsors will be thrilled as well...
I used to like Rahmbo. That fucking water shot? Come on!

Ba doom tssssh. What a fucking dumbass.

He did not. He would not have had to do contact tracing protocol if he was vaccinated. He would not be doing daily testing either.

$1.65 million lost for no shot ☹️

More than that. Sponsors pay less if you're not in the tourney you won last year on a course you can shoot sub-60.

What if he's still C+ in 2 weeks? US Open is the biggest purse in golf.

Too good for the vax, but antibody infusion is OK? What a fucking idiot. They should test him for juice before they let him play again, because if he's dumb and politicized enough to get the Covid months after he could have prevented it...no telling what else he's capable of doing to himself.

Edit: Of course if this was F1 racing instead of goff, I'd immediately suspect the testing protocols and labs. That's the kind of shit they pull in F1. It's French.
