The team I hoped would win each series lost.
Barely going to follow the rest of the playoffs.

Yeah, watched that before and on several replays it didn't even look close. Lots of times it doesn't look like a swing and then you see replays and it clearly is. Not the case here.
Sports only exist for the fans. as a fan of Baseball pre-Selig i have never liked the expanded playoffs or the short October series.
i find it extremely stupid to play a long season and to then throw out the results to run a casino for people who don’t find games 1-162 compelling.
The Rays certainly had the odds stacked against them but there’s a reason they don’t just hand the trophy to the Dodgers when they spend 275 million in March as well, because you still have to play the games.

Great pitching all series from both sides.

Go Dodgers
Sucks the giants lost, but you can’t win a World Series if you can’t score a run without a homer. Oh well, can stop car8ng about baseball till spring.
they need to fix this shit with the umps

Did he swing? Nope. But at the end of the day the better team, franchise, and fanbase won so what can you do?
I’d have preferred a true strike out as well, but Flores was not getting a hit against Scherzer anyway. On to Atlanta.
The dodger “beat someone into a coma in the parking lot owned by our shitty ex owners” fanbase
Yes
But the stupidity is the ridiculous 162 game season — it’s so long it IS meaningless
Nothing wrong with best of 5 leading to best of 7
Maybe the wild card could be best of 3 instead of all or nothing in one night? Tho, maybe not because it actually made me care about the play-in games
I know the reemergence of the Friars has kind of shifted focus in the NL West, but when did the Giants/Dodgers get so cordial? Used to be one of the most heated rivalries with teams that truly hated each other. Now dudes are smiling and cracking jokes on the bases and acting all friendly. Weird times.
Just...a little shy of the series...

need to do something
Giants wouldnt have won NL West with out similar bullshit

but they did and we move on
To the point above, Giants hit I think .185 for the series? thats not gonna get it done, a few bad calls or no.
Dodgers over Bravos in 6
Maybe you have the luxury of rooting for a well run team, but for most fans that 162 is what they get. If they alter it then the records become worthless, and that ability to compare between eras is one of the best things about the game. If the season changed to 154 I think that would be ok but to move to a basketball type schedule would change the sport so much. More than records, baseball is about watching teams and players grind out a season. Maybe I’m in the minority but the storylines you get about the individuals and the ups and downs keep me coming back everyday, and it pisses me off when MLB fucks with the recipe to almost always make it worse.

I'm pretty much in this boat. Give me all 162 win, lose or rain.
I thoroughly enjoy following my team and the storylines of a season. Granted my team has done a ton of winning for the better part of the past decade and that makes it really easy, but I rooted and followed along for a team that came in second place in the division and 2 games under .500 this year and enjoyed the shit out of it. That's the charm of baseball.
I still call it The Jake.
Hopefully the classy dodger fans will get a real World Series with the biggest payroll in baseball.
Congrats to the Dodgers and their fans. Great series. Great season for the Giants.
Agree ^^ I like the storylines that develop over a season.
Championships take talent and luck, and typically the better a team is the “luckier” they get.
Let’s all count our blessings that the stadiums are full and we’re getting the full experience. It’s all entertainment.
It’s not like we flew to another continent to ski and got injured.

RE: Season length.
Would anyone object to cutting the Spring Training season in 1/2?
