That’s brutal. That’s gotta be getting old for him. He has been a complete stud for years and a Cy young recipient but he can’t get a damn thing from the offense.

Sounds like a Mets problem tho

It’s DeGroms own fault. I mean, he is their best hitter, so they really count on him to come through and he just didn’t.

    really, besides BMills?

Dodgers are a great club and put him in a position to get on the big stage. It is funny that when the Dodgers win a world series with the highest payroll, (or Boston in 2018) no one mentions it though. But if the Yankees sign, say, Gerrit Cole... the sport is broken.

Nah, not salty about Bauer. In fact, I'm happy we got what we did when he decided to huck that ball over the centerfield wall in KC.

    Faith in the process:

Well, that's because the Yankees suck. Everyone knows that.

I don’t know what the answer is, but I do know that for some reason, baseball was can’t miss during the McGuire/Sosa run, but now the same big swing longball approach that is the Yankees current model is boring as shit.

Yeah, it’s cause they’re the Yankees and fuck them, but is 200K pitchers and batters what we want?

what is interesting is that mcgwire didn't really have a longball swing. honestly his swing was pretty quiet.

sosa did have a pretty big swing but during that 1998 season, he had 200 hits. he also led the league in strikeouts which is mind-boggling.
    swing your fucking sword.

I think now is an appropriate time to look back and remember when Senator Ted Kennedy took time out on the floor of the Senate to congratulate Sammy Sooser and Mike McGuire on their wonderful accomplishments.

It's not as high an offense era now and there are many fewer balls in play that fall for hits. Look at the rates of doubles and triples. That's where things dropped off and those are the exciting plays.

All Ks and HRs is relatively boring.
