That guy was terrible for both sides all night. That should have been strike 3 inning over. Eovaldi did his job... But nope... Next pitch and the floodgates opened.
Earlier in the game that strike 3 on JD that was ball 4 (at least 3 inches outside) was terrible too. That could have been a big inning but that out seemed to really take the wind out of the red sox offense. Granted there were some bad calls on the astros too. But none of those swung the game the way those two poorly called pitches did.

Such shitty balls/strikes calls seemed to tighten up JD, Schwarber and Kiké, maybe because they're all students of the zone and picky, but it seemed to loosen up Bogaerts to where he felt he might as well just swing and get some hits. Oh well it's a series now, let's do it again tonight.

That pitch to JD looked pretty good from the front angle without the box but it had a lot of horizontal break on it and moved just off the plate before coming over. I don't think 60 year old umps could ever make these calls, you need perfect vision and multiple angles to get it right, there's no chance when you're six feet behind the plate with a guy in the way trying to catch it. It'll be interesting to see when the umpire audit comes out for the game. Greinke had been squeezed on the inside a pitch or two before that was maybe half an inch in. Maybe the guy was just calibrated off to one side slightly, totally normal and human, but it sucks in a big spot. Another thing the umps do that make me crazy is when they give a pitch, sometimes they even it out next time, although nothing is worse than when they get an ump to just keep expanding a zone. Anyway, I hope robot umps come soon, it would make the game faster to get rid of the occasional argument and more fair.

Here's a beauty of bad umpiring:

Hilarious! Back hurt from carrying around that big ass chip on your shoulder?

Dodger fans have been leaving the game early for decades. They earned that rep.

I was watching the Dubs smack down the Lakers and didn’t watch the end of that game.

Good luck with the rest of baseball season. I get to watch Steph Curry play hoops, which is far more interesting and exciting to me. YMMV…

Tuned into the 2017 Cheaters vs the 2018 Cheaters game just as they were talking about the refs looking at some light being flashed from the scoreboard? Anyone catch that?

They showed the light, it looked like a desk lamp or something, there's a lot of space back there. It wasn't like a laser shining out, I think it was just a distraction so the umps wanted it off.

You know how you can tell that the Blue Jays never cheat?

I mean they've never been caught blatantly red handed but gwoan and throw out base-less claims if that's your thing.

See the shot of all the tail lights as “the best fans” left the parking lot at Chavez Ravine in the top of the 9th with Do-dgers down 6-2?

Sheeit - That was before the 3-run no-doubter HR by Rosario

I’m gonna follow the lead of the best fans and turn to the Nuggets and Suns now

That should have been a series sweep right there if they didn’t give up the big lead last night.

Maybe the division race and the tense series with the Giants drained the Do-dgers

Bravos just seem to be locked in right now. Playing loose.

These late game times are killing me though.

The Braves have had a great second half. We played way under our potential through July and had a lot of players go down. Alex Anthopoulos made genius deals at the deadline and didn’t give up on the team.

August through end of the season is like a different team. I don’t expect people that don’t follow the Braves to understand how good this team is. Media and ESPN give them no respect or credit at all.

“Braves are up 3-1? Oh the dodgers are just beat up and spent from the season.”

Ok. And the Braves? Soroka out, Acuña out in July, Darnaud out for 3 months with hand injury, ozuna out early.

Our entire infield hit 28+ bombs regular season. Infielders besides Dansby Swanson had 30+.

Pitching has been much improved over last season.

Max Fried is on the mound, the Braves are red hot and tonight we go for the knock-out punch.
