Assuming you mean the Rendezvous Enduro, yeah, I’ll be there. I’ve been the race director at all the previous ones. Hopefully I’ll have some time afterwards.

I was supposed to get five days of guiding with him outside of Puerto Vallarta, but Covid wrecked it in ‘20. I imagine he is a ripper?

Didn't actually get to ride with him at all during the race. He rode with some other dudes and it sounds like he can shred.

Welp....I might have to try to get into this. I think I have a new even more expensive addiction.

Also, anyone ever successfully get into an EWS100? Thinking a good alternate would be 10+ days in Yurp and try to get into the Canazei race.

Hopefully it won't sell out. I didn't even register until like May this year, but registrations may have been delayed?

Buddy and I are pretty set on trying to do an EWS100 in Yurp. Canazei, Crans Montana, or Loudenville. What say you maggots?

Would be part of an at least 10 day trip.

I did Trans Provence (run by Ash who is running StoneKing) - super well run start to finish.

Stone King looks even better. If it’s coming from him I’d bet it will be amazing.

I'm registered for Ironton, Big Sky, and Bachelor BMEs so far for 2022.

Crans-Montana, SUI vs Loudenvielle, FRA? Buddy and I want to race in Europe next summer (thinking late summer has better chance of us even getting into Europe) and it's between these two EWS100 events.

We would spend at least 7-10 days in the area riding just for fun and then also doing the race. Which one and why?

Crans Montana if you're gonna travel around a bit. There's lots of cool stuff in that vicinity (in Switzerland, but also in France and Italy). But if you're pretty much gonna stay in one place, Loudenvielle. Because the food is better in France.

Ok good to know. Probably try to get a cargo van and we'll just full on dirtbag it most of the time we are there.

Look into camper van rentals. When we were there, camper vans were literally the cheapest vehicle we could rent. Cheaper than a small sedan, and cheaper than cargo vans. We flew into / rented the van in Paris and then drove around.

WG, is it time for a new thread?

I haven't seen any update on the MES website for 2022 events.

    BME Schedule:

    5/14-15 - Ironton, MO
    6/25-26 - Big Sky
    7/16-17 - Durango Purgatory
    8/27-28 - Brian Head, UT
    9/17-18 - Bend, OR (Finals)

NAEC at Silver Mt is June 10-12 (of course I have a wedding to attend)

Race schedule for the Twisted Turtle Series in Idaho (seems good for beginners/children):

The Coyote Classic - April 30th, Cross Country
The Pocatello Pedal Fest - Late May, Permit Pending
    9 to 5 - June 18th, Endurance
Whit Henry’s Galena Grinder - July 9th, Cross Country + Endurance
    Tamarack Weekend - August 6/7 Cross Country/DH-Enduro
    Grassy Cross - November 12 & 13 - CycloCross
    Sandy Cross - December 3 & 4 - CycloCross

Anybody know if it’s ok to pedal and ride purgatory, in Durango, mid-week when the lifts are closed? Driving out from OR to race BME and trying to figure out my road trip and pre-ride schedule

Almost always even if you normally COULD pedal up when there is a BME the following weekend they close it to uphill traffic that preceding week. The organizers are up there taping course, cutting/fixing trail etc and don't want anyone to be in their way or have an advantage before the Friday practice.

Purg will be open with the lift running everyday by the week of the BME. I’m not sure what the trail open/closed situation will be as they set up the stages.

Thanks, I misinterpreted the operating hours on their website. Open every day makes life easy!
