I got in trouble at a sales meeting for showing up with skis mounted with real pivots during this time.
Hahaha. That sounds about right. I think one of the reasons we all liked them so much was that whenever they broke there always seemed to be spares around the shop to cannibalize for parts. In hindsight, those "spares" were almost certainly just the leftovers from other broken pairs.

Every time I bring these out I get high fives and smiles everywhere I turn. Not at Big Snow though.

They were not old enough or rare enough back then, either that or else a bunch of new old farts have joined in just for this thread.

Old farts eh? Toni Sailer's, very early fiberglass with 3 hollow tubes running lengthwise. Mounted with OG Look Nevada's. Shredded mine trying to cross the snoq. pass bypass road at Ski Acres. Somebody graveled the road, inch of new snow covered this & thought I could easily ski right to the car. Huge shower of sparks followed me as I took one high speed turn across thousands of tiny rocks and eventually concrete. Hated to see them end that way but wtf?

I skied the 91's for years but do remember them being fairly flexy (though comfie as fuck). I'm thinking the pros wearing them beefed them up some, but maybe not. When I was a speed skiing hack I remember some of the top guys (the 200km + boys) liked em because more forward flex could get you closer to egg shape in your tuck. They were also pretty aerodynamic.

    SX 91s were red w/white.
92s came in white and black, then orange and black.

^^^ How are PSIA Instructors and Golf carts the same?

They all look exactly alike and only go 15 MPH.

Yeah, mine were definately red and white.

How many PSIA ski instructors does it take to screw in a lightbulb?
    8
One to screw the bulb in and 7 to enthusiastically exclaim "nice turns, nice turns!"

While I wholeheartedly agree with both of you, you’ve got to admit that the guys/gals on the demo team can ski.

I'd like to try my old Dynastar Course Sl or GS again. The old "Chicken Hearts". Loved those skis. Think I had the SL in a 203, the GS in a 207.

Another Rossi Axiom vote. What were they 130-110-120? Autopilot chargers.

Solly X-Scream AK Rocket 200cm. So soft, so smooth. Make you look and feel like Dick Durrance, every turn.

Atomic Atlas 182. 115 underfoot. As long as you are skiing steep trees, it’s the best ever made.

I have a pair of those in GS, 207cm IIRC. Haven't skied them in a couple of years - used to bring them out for retro day, then retro day got canceled at local hill.

    Want them?

Every single guy in my shop had a pair of those 9.0's when they came out, they were hot shit.

I'm changing my thinking on this: things like Flexons and Pivots are still here for a reason, maybe the more important question is what's something that just will not die for no good god damn reason? Snowblades?

Anyone interested in taking their lives into their own hands with a bsl of 326 or so in the SLC area lemme know. I’d be happy to lend them out. They are hilariously fun, Endlesswinter clocked me at 80 on these things a few years ago. Terrifying.

The yellow 208s are one of my favorite skis ever.

I lost them in one of my several “lose everything” life-unraveling events.

Irreplaceable ski as far as I can tell...I’ve only ever seen one other pair.
