Old 3-pin leather boots for my wife.
Anyone have any old 3pin leather boots either size 8 mens or 10 womens? Trying to get my wife out on my hoks. It's how I am going to get her addicted to the backcountry...

I might... I have a few pairs. Just lace-up or lace-up with a buckle or two?

I just ordered some brand new Alico doubles on ebay. There were quite a few Asolo leathers on there and probably some options in the size you are looking for. Including these brand new Alicos shipped from the UK for $80ish USD. (he is also selling the Alico double for $200ish USD shipped, which is what I ordered) He got shipping under way quickly, should be here by the end of the month.

Let me know if you’re interested in some men’s 8.5 Asoló Extreme lace-ups. Good shape.

You might want to consider a light plastic boot like an Excursion or T4. She will be warmer and have more control.

Asolo Extremes were some of the most uncomfortable leather boots I had.
Snowfields would pair better with Hoks but I use T3s without the spoiler and strap. Great combo for warmth, comfort and support. I think Nils at Altai would agree based on our conversation. Extremes are going to be blister machines tromping around in the woods.

They’re okay on the descent I guess but they aren’t as nice tromping around as Snowfields. I’m not trying to sabotage your sale, just replying because op wants his wife to get into the bc. I still think for what he’s asking to do with his wife a two buckle plastic boot paired with the Hoks is a winner.

^ Whatever, I’m not getting any $$ out of this. Do you have some plastic boots in her size for the OP?

Nope, I’m actually trying to find some used two buckle plastic 75mm for my partner. Woman’s 8

Unicorn is making me think buckle may be better.

Excursions are great, wish I still had mine. Have heard T4s are quite a bit stiffer but haven't used them. If you go plastic, I would encourage the Excursions.
Leather has a special place in my heart though, and so comfy once broken in. Which is why I'm going to be jumping on the wayback machine with leathers and practically new Kazamas and voile 3 pin CRBs for mellower trips with the dog. Breaking in brand new stiff leathers can be an arduous process though, used is better on that front. Good on ya Meadow Skipper for the boots and the donation option.

Sorry I haven't replied. My wife had to have surgery last minute so I have been busy. I'll get back to everyone this weekend.
